Techno (by MarcinS) - new model coming soon...

I guess these R.I.L. knives are the easiest one to produce for right-hand or lefty. Most of the time if the design is smart only the last machining operations will differenciate the two handles. Hope we will get a lefty too.

Wouldn't it be just as easy or easier to make a lefty liner lock, based on that thought? After all the only two things which make the locking liner side specific are the blade detent and the direction its bent, both of which are likely some of the last stages in the manufacturing process of the liner. Just thinking out loud(ish) :)

Very excited about this knife! All the great function of a sage 2 without the leaf blade.

OK, let's take a look here... first pictures of MarcinS & Spyderco marriage :D

Looks great! Sure would like to know the ETA.

What do you make of this?

Unfortunately I had to return the proto, but as far as I remember blade thickness was similar to mili, so about 4mm thick. I will be awesome model, ergonomics is uberperfect, you'll see!

And BTW, The design of Marcin's Techno was born late 2007 as far as I remember, so it's pretty "time proven custom" :D

This is one of my most anticipated knives ever. I even have money set aside to buy it when it is realeased. With the amount of new spydercos released lately and already anounced like the manbug, I'm betting this one will be sometime next year. I hope for earlier, but I'm guessing it's still a bit of a wait. Grizz

Great. This is one of those rare models which seems to be exactly what I was looking for, as opposed to the more frequent "would be great, if they just changed . . " ones. Now I wish Spyderco would do the same for a 4" blade folder.

Is the weight of the knife available? One of their competitors had a recent release of a small tank, but it also weighed as much as one so I had to pass.

Wire clip?
154CM?
Tip down carry?
Taiwan?

Ish.

Framelock!
Spydie hole!

Yum!

Solid clip with tip-up option in s30v made in USA gets my money. Anything else, I'll pass.

The Spyderco version (at least the prototype) is CTS-XHP - that's US steel, even if it is assembled in Taiwan.

This knife is beautiful! I actually like the stocky design.

I'm curious as to where the Carpenter steel is manufactured. They have various plants, but it sure would be amazing to carry a finished masterpiece from a place down the street.

cc pre-ordered! For my uses, xhp steel has worked great for me..can't wait to get this one
