I would carry a folder much more over a fixed blade, but I would be open to the idea for the right knife! I still voted for folder because I would carry it much more often.

I would go for it if it was small. Like 6” or less overall. I would want to carry it, I guess and live around some easily scared people?

Voted for fixed blade as well. Love Bird & Trout patterns, so that would be a great choice for a Blade Forum knife in 2018!

Here's a more minimalist version by Mike Lovett:

Waaayyyy too early to even think about this topic.

We always have to stop and figure out if there is going to BE a forum knife each year. That is a complex problem with only a couple acceptable answers.

Just about 2 to 1 for, that's interesting. I think that's the first time this has been brought up a fixed blade had that kinda enthusiasm. Usually what happens is the longer the poll stays open the percentages start to swing and eventually when you have a couple of hundred voters vs fifty voters invariably the majority speaks. You can bet your sweet bippy when a BF is offered I'll be there.

Oh, so I can vote now? A few hours ago, the thread was locked up. In any event, I voted folder.

Even though I sometimes pocket-carry a fixed blade, the odds of coming up with something I would want to carry are much better with a folder.

Part of me likes the idea of a fixed blade forum knife because it's something different, but similar to what Henry Beige Henry Beige said, I think the chances of whatever was collectively decided upon being something I'd be interested in are a lot slimmer with a fixed blade than a folder. Of course, that's just my 2¢.

A fixed blade sounds interesting, but I’m not sure I’d carry a pocket fixed blade.
I kind of want to see it go that rout just to spice up Ted’s forum knife pictures, though.:D
