Frankly, I am disappointed at the hostility to this idea.
Go ahead and call BS on the wall example. I may have read it on this board,I don't remember as it was a long time ago in online internet years. We are now decades removed from the most intense parts of Global War On Terror and the extreme situations our troops faced in Afghanistan or Iraq. . . .those stories are fading with them into the temporal distance of mile age.
The example of Aron Lee Ralston wasn't about how great his tool was . . .it was about the real possibility of an extreme survival scenario outside of a war zone.
No, my vision of Consumer Reports doing this or anyone else getting it together is not likely to ever happen. It is just wishful thinking.
