Texas Camp Knife!

GEC definitely keeps it interesting! Here's my "centered shield" Texas Whittler in Burnt Orange...

Kookaburras are not related to Cuckoos. This one has uncharacteristically made its home in a disused nest, the former resident having long since departed.

This poor fella was a road kill. Here he admires the patina.

Nice, meako! Looks like you've already put that thing to some good use. Good looking lanyard, too!

That skull is tragic, yet cool, Meako!
Now I will have to keep a lookout for a chicken skull . . . .;)
:D

Hi Guys,

Waiting like a little boy today for my new Top Dog! WOW the 98 Camp Knife is quite a piece of engineering and well deserving IMO of what I have read and watched. This is just an Awesome knife;)
I also would like to Thank T.Willy for working with me a deal that was more than fair. A another stand up BF member who I would love to business again. Thanks Trevor!

At least get a Rooster skull:D

Cheers Barrett-
the TCK has been my constant companion since it got here.
Form ,Function and Finesse!
The plait is one I did made of roo leather-

I enjoyed the #98 today preparing some tri tip and venison sausage from last season. It is seriously impressive what this big clip does to a watermelon. I have really been enjoying using this knife. I'm Looking forward to running it through the paces camping whenever time away from work allows-

Watermelon and spicy venison...that's what I'm talking about!! Oh, the knife's a monster..:D:D

I'm totally impressed by the Texas Camp Knife. It has quickly become my official weekend knife. And with cargo shorts season now upon us, it may become my new EDC.

I've been impressed with how 'balanced' the 98 whittler looks and feels despite its size, but it still never rode too well in my front pocket. Until I slipped it into a KSF/Northwoods pocket slip last night - what a revelation! I haven't liked the added step of digging a knife out of a slip before, but I think I'll make the exception for this one. It's also nice to keep the lint out of the blade well.

I especially like the friendly "scoutiness" of the 98.
I was comparing it with a Schrade 7OT the other day.
The 7OT is a big scary looking knife in comparison to the 98 yet not all that much bigger.
Kinda like dressing Dracula in a Junior Chipmunk uniform:D

I'll second the use of a KSF pocket slip for 98 Texas Camp knife - I also use a monkey fist lanyard tucked under my belt that allows me to suspend the otherwise heavy Texas Camp knife in my right front pocket, it makes it feel weightless, plus I can easily access the other stuff in my pocket.

Used the #98 today to trim the fat cap on a brisket down to 1/4" or less. Now I normally do this with a kitchen knife but I have to say the #98 performed extremely well.

The start-

Trimmed -

At least 1.25# of fat-

Finished and ready for the smoker-

How hard was it to get the knife all cleaned up after trimming the brisket? Seems like it would be gunked up pretty bad.
