Texas Camp Knife!

My wife was in an antique shop and picked up this old scout knife today for $5. It is definitely beyond repair as one of the springs is broken and it is severely rusted. I cleaned it up after taking this picture and despite it being in pretty bad shape I do like all the similarities to the #98 and the fact that she picked it up because it "looked like that big Camp Knife". It's new home is on a shelf of antiques in the kitchen.

Used the Camp Knife on Mothers Day to cut down racks of spare ribs to fit in a small smoker. The big clip did a great job cutting through all the small bones and connective tissue at the odd angles spare ribs run. It also made very short work of some large potatoes and a watermelon.

I got a trio of Charlie SFO's. Camp, Cattle and Whittler all in cranberry jig. Anyone else have the trio?

I didn't manage to acquire a 'Charlie' trio; however, I did bring home the Kingwood...

Nice job on the Kingwood trio. Wasn't there a musical group named that? Any way, here is my other trio.

Nice trios!
And it is good to hear someone else is using the Camp knife for fine dining, Stonebeard!!

Haha  that's good stuff. It's been a really busy few days at work and I laughed out loud seeing this.

My Charlie SFO whittlers arrived on Saturday. A pleasant surprise is the red handled odd man out. A few must have been made with the centred shield.

Nice collection, Wolfgang! I don't know how many were made with a centered shield - I will inquire.
