A work buddy scraps things....yesterday he gave me some thicker old micarta? From a older, early 1940's welder. So I Am going to be looking to use that soon. Hopefully somebody will want it.

I made a little straightening jig this week.
This is for pre heat treatment. Afterwards, little warps can be fixed with a carbide tipped hammer..tap, tap, tap

Mesquite smoked BBQ is my favorite, followed by pecan, with oak in third. Those are our locally available woods for making BBQ in South and Central Texas.

Fyi: Bradford (callery) pear is an excellent smoking wood as well, in case you know someone with one in their yard who is tired of it shedding branches every time there's a decent storm.
