Offered as a small token of thanksgiving, this R. Murphy (Ayer, MA) belt knife was built several years ago from old blade stock left on hand from the original run produced for the famous Herter's Inc. catalog and called the George L. Herter knife. The knives were originally produced in the late 1970's.

From the R. Murphy site:
We originally manufactured these for Herter's Inc. They called it the "George L. Herter Knife" (3) part # X320009. Made In U.S.A

I'll eat the first spot, awesome GAW Elliot :)

I have never seen that knife before and it is now on a list to one day own! It would go great with this Mora:

I love the Grohman pattern and wish that more companies made more varieties of it, but probably isn't much market because it doesn't look as pretty as others. But does it ever work!!

Thank you for the generosity!

Not an entry, but a nice knife to experience!
Good on ya, Blues!!

I am remembering those less fortunate this year.

One of my favorite designs -- first one I saw was at a YMCA canoe camp in northern Minnesota, on Burntside Lake, about 1968. Count me in.

Would love the chance, I have always wanted to try out a Canadian Belt Knife, but never bit the bullet. I am in, and thank you for the opportunity.

I would love to own that knife! I used to order a lot of merchandise from Herter's, and passed a lot of time away reading their catalogs while in the Navy. There were lots of interesting tales and stories in the catalog.

Blessings,

Omar

Thanks for the chance, Elliott, I'd love to try out one of those Herter's Canadian designs.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
