The 12 Days of Medford

I really wish people would stop attempting to pose their opinions as facts.

Literally all your points are your opinion, not facts, sorry.

If you think that thin knives cutting better than thick knives is an opinion and not a fact, I'm not sure I can help you.

Please show me in the pictures provided where Stab failed to cut...well, anything he set out to cut. It's ok, I'll go ahead and fast forward to the part where you can't.

That's how these threads always go. "OMG MEDFORDS CAN'T CUT!" despite clear, photographed evidence to the contrary.

I too have a Medford, and it also cuts just fine. I don't understand the poor logic of attempting to use a term like "better" as some sort of statement of fact.

Its not that hard.

On that brilliant reasoning, if I posted pictures of nails I successfully hammered in with a brick it would prove that a brick is a fine hammer, and saying that an actual hammer is better at hammering would be absolutely ridiculous.

There's no reasoning with Medford lovers.

I guess that depends on the composition of the brick... ;)

Having cut-up the old couch to fit in garbage bags, I can say that the Medford cut the chair up just fine. It would not have been any easier using one of my many, many other knives.

I did say that the one task I used it for which would have been better done with a thinner blade was cutting through thick cardboard.
Really thick cardboard I was cutting to protect the photocopies I made of sources for my Master's paper. That was the only task in almost two weeks where I said "Hey, a thinner blade would have made this easier."

Again, bad logic. Please show me in the pictures provided where something was not cut. Do you think that Stab used another knife to cut that food? Is that your claim? Could an Opinel have cut that food somehow better than it was cut? The answer, incidentally, would be no.

Now, if you had said "thinner knives make better slicers" then perhaps you'd have a point. It would be common sense that a thinner blade knife would do a better job of making paper thin slices of media. But you are using the term cutting. That Medford cut those materials just as well as any other knife would have. That's a fact. Anyway, I'm not cluttering Stab's thread up further with another pointless Medford argument.

There's no reasoning with Medford lovers.

Nice dismissal for poor logic. And aren't you a lawyer? Anyway, your statement could be easily applied to Medford haters also, so good work there.

Stabman never said it cut better than anything else. He simply showed it's ability to do what he wanted it to.

Same thing happened to me in the same kind of thread with my old medford.

Enjoy the knife buddy. And keep posting your experience.

Yes, geometry and physics do sometimes combine to make thick blades cut worse than thin blades, but according to some loons in this thread geometry and physics are just opinions that hurt their precious feelings and should therefore be ignored.

FWIW, as I said the first time around, I like and sometimes carry my 187:

Personal attacks, always a great way to attempt to make a point.

But it could have been done better. LOL

There was one other task the Medford wasn't fully suited for...

I figured the folks at the gym might not appreciate having their heavy bag cut open, so I used the cheap sap I bought for working on the bag with instead. :D

Okay, I'll bite. This is getting so silly that it's actually sort of fun. Yes the photos of things cut with a Medford do prove they're great performing knives, just like my photos of nails hammered in with a brick do prove that a brick is an excellent hammer.

I agree, it IS silly. I'm glad you agree, you have a great day. :)

Hey Stabman, on a more positive note, I might have replied I too like to do this. I am going to try out you steak method too! Built 3 firepits in secluded spots recently, and christened with food.
