The 1st cut is the deepest. Do you still own your 1st CRK?

Oh they definitely do.
My Damascus has a more crisp click /snap.
My tanto has almost no sound closing (dirt cushioning the stop pin most likely)
My former small had a more dull click to it.
If I closed my eyes I could easily hear which knife you were closing.

I've bought and sold many knives. A lot of crks, but not my first. It's priceless to me. I waned one for so long and finially got a regular 21. It was such a great feeling when it arrived and a sence of accomplishment. I love that knife and would never part with it.

Still the pride of my collection, the One that started it all and inspired the "Line Drive" CGG.

Please, if anyone can help me find my first Sebenza I have $200.00 with their name on it. My first was a large 21 with Micarta Inlays, polished blade, and silver hardware. Its birthdate is Oct. 13, 2011.
It is indistinguishable as there is quite a deep gash that goes right across and through both front Micarta slabs. It goes from the upper inlay, downwards to the right side of the lower inlay. Man, I would do anything to get it back. I sold it on one of the forums and tracked down every single person that I had spoken with and the gentleman that I thought bought it swears that he didn't buy it and I can't remember who actually ended up getting it.
I don't care what shape its in. As long as its mine. If you do have it I am willing to pay $500.00 for it. Since I have bought, sold, and kept well over 80-100 Sebenzas but there is nothing like your first. Great Post and if we can reunite just one person with their first it is all worth it. But please, if anyone has any ideas as the gash on the front slabs is quite deep, PLEASE, drop me a PM. Thank you al and great idea for a post and congrats to all of you that have your first.

With so many new members to the forum this last while, and discussion about that special 1st CRK, I thought I'd bump this thread in case more tales are out there about firsties.

My first one came back to me. It was a small Classic with African Blackwood, smooth as butter. I traded it away, and got it back later as part of a package deal. It had been around, had a facelift, but I know for sure it's the same one. I think it wanted to come back, so it's here to stay.

How do you do a facelift on a wood inlayed CRK?

You send it to the spa, and you give it a fancy custom lanyard.

I didn't think they could do a spa treatment on the wood/polished TI slabs. Did they just re-polish the blade? Sorry to bug, but I've often wondered about whether this is an option for the inlayed knives other than Micarta.

I had also sold my first sebenza and was reunited with it almost 4-5 years later. It was a micarta 21 serrated pre Idaho stamp. I believe it switched hands with a few buyers. But I ended up coming upon it in a craigslist ad in some random state/ city. Pure luck and chance that I found it. I ended up selling it again tho as the serrated blade wasn't cutting it for me literally. My one and only CRK now is a micarta 25. Guess I upgraded.

You'll have to ask them, I didn't own the knife at the time.

Taken when I had it the first time.

Bought my first CRK,small diamond plate, sold it then bought another one year after.

Hi all, I started with CRKs just a few months ago and I can safely say that CRKs are my current fav. It was the Umnumzaan, that caught my eye and the large 21 came 2 weeks after that. These two have a special place in my pockets at the moment :)

Well I don't have much of a back story with my first CRK since it hasn't been a month since I've owned it LOL but, I can say this is one I won't get rid of. Unless of course it's lost or stolen which brings me to my second part, it's already been lost and recovered. Not only was it already a special knife to me being something I never thought I'd have the opportunity to buy, it's nearly perfect for any day anything I need a knife for but losing and having it returned makes it that more special.

I am a ready-mix driver and am on up to 8 different jobsites a day, from doing curb in the ghetto to billion dollar stadiums and everything in between, when I realized it was gone it could have been anywhere and I wrote it off as gone. When I came into work the next morning a couple of my coworkers were asking me if I wanted to buy a nice carbon fiber knife and laughing, I knew right away someone found it but they wanted to play with me a little bit (as I would too lol) but I eventually got it back that day. Turns out it was pulled out of my pocket by a small elastic drawstring on the inside bottom of my winter coat, I think, and the site I was on was extremely muddy from days of rain and pitch black out. Somehow my buddy saw a small, shiny blue "thing" poking out of the mud at the back of the pump truck! Luckily I have a weekly show and tell with my purchases and they knew right away it was probably mine. He was more than happy to swap my small CF Insingo for a bottle of Crown Royal :D

This knife was my first Sebenza and will always be a special piece to me.

I still have my original lg reg sebs from 1987. One is still BNIB!! Since that time I have acquired many more
