The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

I’d be soooooooo grateful for a UF preorder :-) :-) I’m horrible at the Friday sale, think I scored one, and that was via proxy :-) So thankful for that :-) If it wasn’t for the super sweet preorder that would be my only CPK blade. Well except secondary market :-( lol
If it’s time frame, heck I don’t mind waiting :-)

Two quick observations for toady, both inherently very funny:

1- Bob has suddenly become a pony whisperer! Who would’ve thunk that?! :D

2- Nathan trolls his own ANAQ thread!

Hey, one never knows when a pony will come in handy.............

My sentimemts exactly :)

A limited pre-order could very well be held on a Friday at 3pm eastern on the CPK subforum, limited to maybe 5 UFs on a first come, first served basis where payment is quick to follow the "limited pre-order" and with knives available within 10-14 days. Oh, wait, that's happening anyway, called a Friday sale!

Bob, that's a fair and straightforward system with some tighter rules. It's just that Nathan needs to pull another one of his King Solomon's acts of wisdom to make sure that those who yearn for one (or two) end up getting their hands on at least one. With 100 of these UFs planned, I'm fairly certain that 50-70 different folks on here will get theirs as long as egregious repeated buying and some other shenanigans get nipped in the bud.

“Nathan”

I don’t know if 100 will be enough or not to go around. For me I have four HDFKs, one to use the rest to drool over :D:p:D Yet if you did another HDFK preorder, I’d more than likely buy another. It’s that great of a knife. So I just don’t see the UF need/want factor demimishing any time soon. So Friday sales to work for me, these will need to come to a crawl.
But I do enjoy collecting your knives, I love the styles/designs.

My internet sucks and I live in Australia, so landing a UF is near impossible unless someone proxies for me.

I'll try this week and if that fails i'll have to hope eventually someone will try get me one, once they have fulfilled their own desires.

A pre-order is pretty comforting for those who cant rely on their internet ninja skills. I'll say no more because I am sure you're sick of people asking for a pre-order :p

But please Nate, at least think about it. For the sake of us folk who can barely load a page before they are all gone

Yeah we're doing 100 of these. I can't imagine that won't be enough.

You have said this before, I think you think we think you think we think you think this is true, but I think not. :confused:o_O

The only way it would be enough is if you made the price prohibitive to owning one, and that ain't your style.

Oh no, they're actually going to be pretty affordable. They'll be machined and tumbled, like the original, which reduces a lot of the expense of hand grinding the bevels like our recent offerings. The machining turned out superb, in part due to the seven ton Mori Seiki mill we have now that we didn't have when we did the original. I'm really quite pleased with the machining, it's pretty phenomenal (if I do say so myself) and it will keep the cost closer to the original.
