The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

I really like the one where he throws a spear at (I think) a Cape Water Buffalo and that damn buffalo somehow managed to block that spear with its horn. That was wild. If you haven't seen that, it's worth looking it up.
Yeah, it actually flicked its head and deflected the spear with its horns (right hefore charging. Pretty impressed with how fast LT drew his revolver and fired while running round the stump).

I'm going to try to have a prototype at Blade and hopefully the pre-production prototype run by the end of the year. It may yield 50-100 workable folders, it may not. Production of folders would probably start next year once we've validated the designs and production process.
All this info is greatly appreciated! I will be at Blade in Atlanta! I’m gonna find you. I would love to get a peek at that proto.

Please let us know what your thoughts are after seeing it first hand for those of us that are not able to make it to Blade.🤔 Also what size folder do you normally carry. Thanks

Will do! I think the Spyderco military gets the most pocket time. I also carry a Spartan harsey folder. The Spartan has a 4” blade and TI frame lock. I also have a sebenza 21. It looks like this CPK folder will be similarly sized as the SHF with fit and finish more on lines with the sebenza , but with D3V magic. Also tip up is a plus. I like my military, but putting my hand in my pocket to get my keys with a large tip down blade right there isn’t ideal.
I predict the CPK folder will be getting all the pocket time when I finally get one.

Dual action, please😁
I honestly think switchblades are kind of dumb. As a weapon, I like the simplicity and reliability of a flipper tab or thumb stud. And the fact that it can't accidentally fire in my pocket etc.

You see assisted openers with safeties. Come on man..... Just open the pocket knife like a sane person. I feel the same way about wave tabs. Why complicate opening a knife. Simplicity is key.

All of that said.... I'm sure I'll do a double action auto one day. College tuition ain't cheap....

I hear you. If I need a blade for a weapon, I'll use a fixed blade. Autos are just for regular cutting chores.

Hi Nathan, will every part of the folder be 100% made by cpk? If not which part? (bearing, screw..?)
I won't be making the screws. I will probably use metric screws for a better selection of screw head options in the materials that I want to use.
