The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

To lazy to look it up. Nathan a while ago you said to buy an ar10. I have multiple ar15s. What is the cpk of ar10s. I have a sr15. I'm not buying a sr25. :) yes I'd like one, no I'm not paying for one. I have a semi auto 308 old school m14 type. It's accurate and reliable. The manual of arms is completely different from an AR which seems to me to be the appeal to the ar10 but it is what it is. I also realize the ar10 is the original ar and that also lends to the appeal. The fact that the military never adopted the ar10 hence no milspec and result of 2 different pattern ar10s diminishes the appeal. And now I'm rambling. I guess I'm trying to talk myself out of spending stupid money on a sr25.

The LWRC REPR MKII and Sig 716 are a couple of options that provide better bang for the buck than the SR25 (which has been steadily heading into the stratosphere).

LMT's MWS is another option.

Pity the DPMS G2 series went poof. The G2 SASS was a great deal, and 1/2 MOA capable with 175gr FGMM.

JP Enterprises makes an awesome AR10. Wilson Combat also makes some really great rifles. I love my LWRC stuff- Uber reliable but not the most accurate rifles in the world.

There are lots of good options out there!

I'm probably never going to buy an ar10. I'm pretty happy with the LRB m14 type. It's slightly heavier and not as easy to put an optic on but it is an old school handsome rifle recoil isn't bad and it's not evil black. It's one hell of a rifle victim to the military deciding to change caliber.
Back around 2006, my friend had an AR-10 in 260 rem, from GA Precision in KC. It made decent groups at 1000 yards which was astonishing to us die hard bolt gun guys. Looking at their website now they are still available but have about doubled in price. I always wanted one of those...

Build your own, that’s what I did. Not the fanciest out there, but goes bang every time and hits where I want it to.

Nice stock on that one. Another fan here ....
Thanks. Everything except the receiver and barrel are old stock m14 parts. I belive that was a result of the Colorado theater shooter. The wife said whatever your looking at go ahead and buy it before they ban them:) both are keepers. LRB makes about as accurate reproduction as possible. The hammer forged receiver rings like a bell. Bill Clinton should rot in hell for demilling a million m14s. Among other things.
