I have a nice original DEK with satin grind dressed in ECAM.

So glad I jumped on the DEK3 preorder. Magnacut with double edge tip and rear sharp swedge, combined. In matching ECAM scales. Should only be a couple of months more.🕺

However, for some reason I botched it and didn't order matching satin grind. 😢 I am an idiot. At least I did order a nice leather Pirtle sheath.

I guess what I am asking for is whether it provides any benefits apart of being stainless in Dek3 set up (i.e thinner stock, more acute angle etc.)

What would be your prefered stainless steel option that would tick the boxes for you in relation to your prefered characteristics (toughness, edge stability, etc)

I am not a steel nerd.... But stumbled on an article in Knife Nerds about Bohler K890. You probably are read up on it? No need to respond now, but would look forward to hearing your further thoughts as you learn more about it. Or has it already been covered here?
 
Nathan, quick one about Dek3, I know it's slimmer, hollow grind and the edge angles are more acute....just out of curiosity....what's the approximate bte thickness. Thanks
