My vote for fk3 would be fk2 handle with fk1 blade shape. Skeletonized with a bit thinner blade stock.

I'm sure there's some sort of twisted logic in there somewhere...and if it makes you feel better, well, that's all that matters.

Bud you just made my night! That’s great news, thank you! I was starting to lose hope in the possibility of getting some kind of CPK chopper.

That wonderful edge cut antique Micarta comes from some machined bearing stock that is almost certainly Westinghouse although I do not have material certs for it.

I bought all of it they had but it's half gone now.


I acquired a few tons of some old International Paper Micarta. International Paper bought the brand, the machinery, and the manufacturing process when Westinghouse sold out. It's maybe not exactly the same thing but it's pretty close. It is certainly good material. I like it. And it's much more affordable than genuine Westinghouse. We will be offering that on knives in some future runs.


Also, I've decided I'm going to do a Basic Five pre-order. I see all the flippers out there.

I need to get the last of these DEK pre-orders out and then we're going to do the basic five & FK3. Probably pretty soon.

I'm relatively new to CPK and I'm not up to speed on the acronyms. In the latest post about Friday's sale (8/11), there is a note about a type of knife, DEF. I looked at the current production on the CPK website but I couldn't determine what it means. So I have to ask: what does DEF mean?
