YesWill the field knife 3 version be a little thinner behind the edge (slicier) than the basic 5? Will it be similar to the FK2 regarding thickness.
At some point, yesIs the axe still a possibility?
HeyNathan the Machinist what will be the difference between the BFK/FK3 and the SS model for tomorrow's pre-order?
Need some time to stew between the options before the leisurely pre-order opens up.![]()

Thanks brother!#NotNathan, but he did say this:
“a signature variation of it which will be made with jimping and some weight reduction features“.
The Basic 5" Field Knife - Thoughts and Impressions
We don't use a blasted finish. The problem with a blasted finish is it tends to pick up little scratches pretty bad. We use a tumbled finish, which is really just millions of random small scratches. It has better corrosion resistance than a blasted finish and it also holds up to use pretty well...www.bladeforums.com
Yes, the pre-order will be this coming Friday and we will offer the basic five and a signature build of the basic five that we might call the FK3. There will be plenty of options, but I have not figured out what we will be offering yet.
Thanks I was wondering myself what the options were and detailsIronwagon, this may or may not help but it may be all we have until 3p
A swedge would be awesome.I bet there will be a nice long swedge in the FK3 to balance the new holes in the tang.
A Bowie option would be even more effective. Just saying![]()
