I took some time reading back on the pages.
Falling asleep while driving is scary and glad you made it through that. It seems that there’s a lot of stressful stuff going on towards the end of the year.

I tried searching for some information about the basic5 order but couldn’t find any. Can someone shed some light for me. Thanks.

What do you want to know that's not in the preorder thread?

Oh, sure.

#notnathan but I seem to recall him saying that he had all the steel for all the preorders in house right now, and that both K20s and Shivs are being machined. Completed K20s are being shipped, though there is a glitch in the Matrix with the wood handled ones. Still, about 3/4 of the people on the first page have had their swords shipped, and I am guessing the ones who haven't largely got caught up with the wood handle production issue. No Shivs from the preorder have been seen yet, so rationally one would assume that if the Basic 5s have started machining, they are even further behind the Shivs.

The preorder thread said Nathan was going to try and start shipping by the end of this year and that order completion might take until the end of 2024. In terms of production timeline estimates, this is pretty good, as Knifemaker Time (TM) is a famous phenomenon in terms of deadlines and the whooshing noises knifemakers are always hearing as they fly by. Nathan is pretty good at estimating, but the preorder estimate was made four months ago, so I'd say if the first Basic 5 rolled out by the end of January that he was as close to spot on as could be expected, and he did say it may take longer to finish.

Edit to say Nathan is good at estimating time. Not so good at estimating customer demand levels:)

However as my duties on CPK-Sub as its emeritus rocket surgeon compels me, I must cheer you up when you tend to feel a bit down :)

Believe in yourself that you are the hottest knife-maker out there. Insanely hot! I just looked and there is not even one CPK for sale on the Big Auction Site as everything listed sold out (far as I can tell). It's not just insane over here, it's red-hot over there also. You got it in abundance but just not in buying/selling vehicles. Heck, I don't even have that and I was in the business for 25 years and counting. It's like a death trap!
