The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

So this is a random question for Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist .
Have you ever used a ball mill for fullering on a blade, are there any pro's/con's to doing so.
I was wondering if the fullers were milled into the ground blank before the bevels were ground it would save time in the long run etc.

Just wondering (of course all milling would be done before heat treating)

One-off in 4V

Performed very well. It's the thinnest race knife we have ever produced. Ben just ran it in a race in Tennessee today and won the hell out of it. First place in the race and also won the points coin. The knife, as thin as it was, took no damage. Ben is one of the physically strongest cutters in the field and he is running the thinnest knife in the field. And he has a lot of skill. He wins almost every race he goes to.

Yeah, I need to do another run of race knives and, yeah, I think I'm going to run 4V next time.

F YES YOU GENIUS

...... oh yes.... "in" lol

Nathan, what is your favorite knife? What's your EDC knife? Cheers!

My favorite knife is an OG Behemoth chopper.

My everyday folder is a Shirogorov. Fantastic build. Edge stability is better than the Seb I used to carry, but there's room for improvement.

Nathan - my CPK EDC is in 4V which I know very little about, and I was wondering if you could tell me about your 4V steel properties vs your D3V offerings of which we know so much?

What steel is your EDC Shirogorov? I have some in Vanax 37, S90V, M390, Elmax, and Cromax PM, but wonder what you like the most.

Any interest in a trade? Like new sumo orange for axe or skinner, cash either way depending on condition of knife.

Yeah. Maybe.

What kind of sumo orange are we talking about here? Do you have more pictures? You say, like new. How much you so we talking about here? Have you licked it? Or just smelled it? Were you licking your fingers between handlings? How much? Did you keep the skin?
