The average knife cost in your collection?

Considering I've sold almost EVERYTHING besides three knives (not counting my work Endura/Cold Steel or a few SAKS)

I only have 3 main blades right now.

Avrg = $258
Highest = $350
Lowest = $200

Highest being a Emerson HD-7 and lowest being a Fallkniven A1

I need to update my data after some selling, buying, and trading:

Total number of knives in collection: 18
Total cost to acquire: $9605

9605 divided by 18 = $533.61 average cost

Full disclosure, the two knives I currently have my eye on are only going to raise the average. My freaking tastes are getting pretty expensive! haha

1000+450+2000+1000+2000+1500+1200+3500+1600+5000 / 10= $1925
some are for sale

Average cost $89.80.

Least expensive $10.00. An old worn out Wostenholm that I bought at a flea market. Both blades are sharpened down to toothpicks.

Whenever I see a knife with a blade like that I always wonder:

1.) Is that a knife that has been retired after having gone through many, many years of trustful use?

or

2.) Has it just been kept in someones dirty workshop, used for whatever and then sharpened with a bench grinder whenever needed, taking off a fifth of the blade every time?

I am a relative newcomer to collecting but so far it averages out to $290...I suspect that might increase a tad after the Blade Show...

Cheers/bg

2016 Bought 32 Knives. Sold two of them. Average price 169.22. Average blade length 3.3 I keep a spreadsheet on my purchases.

Going by what I actually paid and not MSRP for my modest collection (minus the incoming Olamic):

$1956/11 = $177.81

Nothing compared to most of you guys.

Average just under 200 the cheapest is my lionsteel m4 120 bucks and most expensive fallkniven nl4 a little over 300

The majority of my purchases over the last two years are less than 150 dollars and many less than 100 dollars as I usually buy high value knives on sale. My average cost per knife for the five or six dozen in my collection is between 100 and 150 dollars. And that includes two Hinderers, one Strider, and a Sebenza. Oh, and my most expensive, a William Henry I received as a gift.

Update on current collection:

22 knives, total cost $12,000.00 = $ 545.45 average cost per knife

It seems I have settled into a comfy price range of quality and money.
Avg is between $175 & $275.
Really nice stuff that I don't mind using.
