Ren, calling people idiots in this thread is not going to do much for setting a tone of civility or help things move forward.

If we can't post our thoughts without appending epithets then perhaps we should step back from the keyboard. That goes for everyone.

And as an aside, I see some folks here who themselves bellowed loudly when they were the ones who felt they had been either cheated or shortchanged when items they had paid for from Tim Balda weren't received in an expeditious enough manner. Now that they have belatedly received their items (and the usual recompense), all is well with their world and they are willing to look the other way and smile beatifically. I see some of this as somewhat two faced and self serving.

If you have something germane to add to the thread, then by all means post it but do so in a civil manner befitting these forums.

If not, please stay on the sidelines.

Tim i am a fine one to talk as i have said things on this forum i later wish i had not.. i am a hot head and trying to change..
i hope to contune with turning over a new leaf...
and pray i can hold with it ...
for my own reasons..i hate to see this going were it has and can ..
we can learn from mistakes .. and we all have problems best left to off topic
.. some one told me to jest own up and i had to learn to do that

your first post .. if it has been limited to only what i edited it to
you would have left much less target for some to take shots at you..
yes you might have gotten a few more but not like has happened

i found it does no good weather right or wrong to bring others in as
it makes them feel they have to comment..
i have done this and seen the error of my ways
you have edited out in the past and i am sure those threads died..
i have done that also...
while not good ...it does helps stop the continuing blood letting..
and is like on to cutting off a gangrene foot in mouth to keep from killing your reputation totally..
if i may suggest,
to put this thread to rest you could edit posts and
let it pass on to history pages..
if you dont post in response to bate others post
they will let it pass to history also..

when you receive emails of were you have made any one that was up set
happy then start a new thread with comment that
you had made a mistake and here is were it has been taken care of..

Great news Ren, I've had more info from Tim and I'm confident I'll receive my refund on Monday or Tuesday.

Those that want to speculate where the knives are from can come down and visit this Summer once I move into the new location. I will not have visitors here now because much of the process is done at my residence. Not only will I not let people into my home, but I won't risk zoning questions, etc. Making these knives is my way out of a bad situation and I can't risk mean-spirited people making life more difficult. I have found a new location where I can consolidate all the making, office and selling in one place. We can't move until it is all ready. Until then, i do things in three different locations here in Lorain County.

My last post:

Mr. Balda was recently banned. Not sure why, is it pertinent to this thread regrading his dishonest business practices? If so, possibly this thread should be elevated to the hall of shame.

What is pertinent is he signed up as a "ghost" and praised his own work after his being banned.

Pretty much tells you that he has not found redemption and is not to be trusted.

Caveat emptor.

There was no real need to reopen or revisit this matter.

While it is true that Balda/Amherst was banned from bladeforums.com by the owner of the site, the bases for that decision will not be aired out here or in a public fashion.

Also, your statement above is inaccurate. While he did in fact log on under another name after being banned, it was only discovered after the fact that he had (in the past) shilled his own work under that very same nom de plume.

Now that he is no longer a presence on this site we can move on.
