The handle profile and bolt holes are interchangeable, but the contouring is different and the BFK / FK3 scales don't have lanyard holes.

I know I am in the minority here but I actually prefer the basic over the fk3. Anyone feel the same?

I'm with you. Although I like them near equally, I like the heft of the Basic just a little more. Now if I could just get my hands on one of those 1/4" HD-BFK's that Nathan was whipping up...

I think I prefer the fk3 somewhat better than the basic but I just received it last night and am still checking it out. Even though the weight isn’t that far apart I like the balance of the fk3. I gave my basic to my daughter as she didn’t have a decent camping knife (can’t have that). I was lucky enough to get the SDFK so if I need something more heavy duty I can use that one. ,

Do you guys have something extra special ordered? Like swedged FK3’s with Satin finish?

I beleive they go in order of easiest to most complex so they can bang out the majority of them. I got my Tumbled FK3 mid September and think I was like #27 on the pre-order, so I’m guessing the Satins are up next? I’m guessing Mark’s gonna be busy on the satin ones.

Gonna be so bad ass! I remember a couple months ago waiting for my FK3 after months of the Basic 5’s rolling out everywhere, dying just to catch even a glimpse of an FK3. So awesome when I finally saw one. The Satin FK3 is going to be glorious! Congrats in advance, I am already jealous of you

Just for preorder forecast purposes: I have not yet received my FK3 ECAM, no satin.

Things seem to be very busy at the compound, especially with them hosting the recent cut event. I know they’re working hard to fill orders- I have no complaints!
