Does collecting knives make you a freak?
-Yes, so what?

Are Opinels and Byrds good for the price?
- Can't get better for 10-20$

Is surgical steel a superior steel?
- Hell no, get rid of that crappy chinese knife.

Don't get S30V, it chips. :(

Surgical steel is way better for trolling. :D

Y'know what, there should be a message to all new members. Limit yourself to only one hour of viewing a day. Or else you'll end up like the rest of us, devoting our every waking minute to online knife, gun and flashlight forums :D.

Some people like big knives. Others like small knives. Some like them thick for prying and other things that others don't consider proper use for a knife. Others like them thin and optimized for slicing. Really it all depends on your personal preference, how good does the knife feel in your hand, what you intend to use it for and whether it along with the other gear you are carrying will handle unanticipated situations.

You are allowed to take more than one knife with you in the bush. If you prefer to take an axe and a saw to help you along thats okay as well. Kurkri's and machetes are great tools and better than others for certain tasks.

Finally - moras have a great cost/benefit ratio.

OK OK but I really need to know
1. Tip up or tip down?
2. Serrated or plain edge?
Please help!

Zombies don't exist, so there's no need to get a specific knife just to prepare for a battle that will never be.

Uh huh. That's what they said before the zombie uprising back in '76. Just keep living in the clouds mister. As for me I'm stocking up.
