The Bears' Den--Shirogorov Showcase

I wouldn't call it a breakthrough, but it feels like a worthy extension of the budget (Ursus) line.

BTW, the titanium scales are flat (no grooves to keep the backspacer in place), you can avoid full disassembly when attaching a lanyard:
- open the blade
- remove the rear screw and bushing
- rotate the backspacer to make the lanyard hole fully accessible 🙃

Great pics! Tell me more about that bead - I love the pattern and the etch on that is perfection.
Thanks, friend! The bead is by Zoe Crist, who is, of course, well known for forging exquisite Damascus steel patterns. I had to dig through my laptop as well searching my posts and PMs here to refresh my memory on how I came about that one. I picked it up in August of 2017 to add to a lionSTEEL TiSpine that came to me through a WTB post here at BF. I'm pretty sure I ordered it directly from Zoe's website. I had that knife 'til 2020 and sold it about the same time I picked up the RDD from our friend CPP CPP and moved the bead over to that knife.

Here's a tight pic of the bead on the TiSpine back in the day...

...another from today...

...and a third, showing the other side, from when I first tied up the tail and bead on the RDD.

So my seven year old son and I left for a road trip to the beach for the weekend this morning. I'm mindlessly driving when he says "Dad, you have Shiro bear on your hand."

Looked down and sure enough. Confused for a moment. Remembered the tiny metal Shiro decal I put on the windshield eyebrow a while back.

When the knife Gods speak, I listen up. I need another Shiro. lol

Sigma Saturday.

Another CF (CarboTi, actually) folder designed by Sinkevich is coming — extremely thin (0.1") and lightweight (2.54 oz) Skinny Strip.

That texture reminds me of charcoal (in a good way). 🙃

Not sure why it was really necessary to put 'SINKEVICH DESIGN' next to his logo on the reverse side of the blade? It could be engraved on the lock-bar.

Anyway, I'm going to take my chances this time.

Not sure why I put my name in on the Skinny as I have no need for another knife. But I won. Looking forward to pocketing this one, so nice and thin.

Congratulations! AFAIK Skinny is the most slicy Shiro made so far.

BTW, the next collaboration with Sinkevich might be Pike model — the proto #1 is scheduled for online auction in a couple of days. I wonder if the mysterious "red button" is a mere decoration/design feature...
