They had 13 of these new alutex Hatis at blade. I had a proxy and was lucky to get one to go with my old hati r. Now I need them all.

Trust me, as a knife I LOVE the CDX, this version just seemed a bit ugly to me. Black and red? Grey and red, grey and black? The 2 colors just didnt vibe with me. Just looked like left over parts thrown together to me personally.

I also do not like the colors used on this knife. They are bound to have some better looking cf than that maroon stuff. And then the ano, more bad choices. What color is it even? And the clip is even a different color like a purple or something. I think DualX as a model is fine, prefer full ti though, but this version isn't it.

Thats how i felt about it! How about a CF front scale!!! A Hati X would have beennn soooooo nice!!!!

Now you're talking my language! A modern version of the Hati Seashell CD if you will. That remains one of my fav custom divisions ever and the platform should be revamped imo. Haiti to go with CDX would be excellent.
 
I had a chance to buy an early model seashell recently and passed. Drrbs. And I passed. I regret it.... But I did get another new hati 😂

That purple is awesome, I really hoped they run these colors again on the updated Hati but I know they won’t since they had these at Blade Show, oh well.

Those seashell drrbs hati are undefeated. I sold one years ago, like in 2016, and still regret it. Can’t believe you passed on that. 🤦‍♂️

These new Hati’s are really good. I wish they’d bring back the seashell milling on the Hati.

If you’ve not handled an Astrum before I’d definitely recommend it before selling anything, as the Astrum is quite an acquired taste.

The Dual X is interesting, the current iteration is hideous though. CDX should still reign supreme as full ti construction is generally most preferred.

I had an Astrum FP I loved - but sold it to swap for a 95. Still love the Astrum, and eager to try out the contoured version Sprint Run. CDX is going nowhere from my collection anytime soon - I am in total agreement, it remains the daddy of the Shiro lineup as far as I am concerned(full customs aside).

I have the astrum sr, I love it! I've had a CDX but sold it..... And just bought another one....

i saw one of these Neon CD's on bladebinge recently and missed out, the price was good enough that I would have jumped on it but it sold in less than an hour. those are really cool

edit: looking at the size compared to the stellar, im not sure if that's a neon or not, but i did see a neon cd in a similar look and thought it was great
 
how are other Shiro owners here handling sharpening? From what I can tell, Shiro's come with a fairly obtuse edge angle, ~25-30dps. However the heat treat and geometry can sustain a much more acute angle, but then the plunge/choil starts to become difficult to work with. I'm surprised they come with such a high angle, I thought it was pretty well established at this point that 15-20 is more ideal, performs better, and actually lasts longer. Especially when you have high quality ht and good cutting geo. It seems to me that Shiro's are basically the ideal knife for an acute 15-17.5dps edge. Shiro owners that have alot of sharpening experience, are you matching the factory angle? If you are dropping the angle back, how are you handling the plunge/choil area? I want to lay the edge back but I don't want to smile or damage the plunge/choil
