The Beer Scout Knife

Well, I went grocery shopping this evening, and since I was driving, I thought a soda would be a better idea.

Beer brings out the artist in me. :D:D:D

I couldn't resist, I had some extra pieces of leather and bought some rivets from Hobby Lobby. I trimmed, punched some holes, and waxed. I don't know how strong it is so I will have to test this out. This is the first version and I am going to make a couple more learning as I go. I do like it on the cocobolo BSK though. I go back and forth with this one and the 'gunscout'. Still messing around with lanyards.

Nicely done!!! The leather matches the cocobolo quite nicely.

I did the same thing with some black scrap last spring. I made 4. All of them were summarily confiscated by female workers for their keychains. I've been meaning to make up some more, to actually keep for myself this time.

First off, I'm not a traditional knife guy, just wanted to get that out of the way. That said, I stumbled across The Beer Scout and immediately knew I had to try on. Rather quickly I found a tortoise shell BS, worked out a deal with a fellow BF member and two quick days later I just opened my first beer with it.

I have to say, this is a great knife. Fit and finish is excellent and its kind of cool to have traditional pocket knife like my Grandfather would have carried. Plus, this knife has one hell of a fun factor to it. It's just cool.

I remember when Mt Carmel first opened! I moved from Erlanger to Dallas but grew up in Amelia :)

This is the first knife I've paid retail for in a while. How fun is this! And excellent quality to boot.

My attempt at a lanyard. For now..! At first I was skeptical of the bail but now it's growing on me. My 2 bladed trapper is always so far down in the pocket, hard to get to sometimes.

Congratulations to the Beer Scout Knife club for 100 pages of BSK fun, photos and information!
