The Beer Scout Knife

Thank you all, so far I've decided to keep any patina at bay. Still on the fence about it though... My orange camel bone did join the dark side.

 
Just got mine in the mail yesterday (courtesy of bozak). Such an awesome knife.

Officially 5pm here on a Friday. This guy is starting on his patina while he waits for his chestnut brother to arrive tomorrow...

I was in the same boat a couple of weeks ago. Keep a sharp eye on the for sale forum. I think there might be a soda scout up there as we speak...
 
Late to posting mine, but finally was able to update my membership so I can post pictures.

As you can see I went with low tech for my lanyard using material on hand. Paracord and a bottlecap - though I did try and match the bottlecap to the tortoiseshell :D

Ok, they're not all for me. I initially set out to get ahold of two (one for myself, one as a gift for my Uncle who's really into craft beer). When I got the first one in, I sent pictures of it to a friend, who then said that he'd really like to have one, so I figured I'd get him one for Christmas. And then I got a chance to buy the chestnut sawcut bone (which I had initially determined would be too difficult to find), so now I have two for myself, and two to give as gifts.

Big thanks to bozack and KBA for helping me get three of the four!

I've had ebony, ivory bone, micarta and saw cut so far. Down to just the saw cut now, but they are pretty cool. Glad you found the saw cut too. I kind of miss the ebony. Wouldn't have let it go if it weren't a trade for the saw cut.
 
I had a tough day. I decided to carry my #77 micarta barlow today, on my day off from work. I was getting ready to do some painting on the back porch stairs, reached into my pocket for something to pry open the paint can lid, and I fished out the barlow...... Ugghhhhhh. I went inside, grabbed my Beer Scout, and used the opener to pry open the lid. I then proceeded to put the Beer Scout back inside, because you know, it was #77 barlow day.

After a long day of sanding, painting and mowing, I cooked some steaks on the charcoal grill for dinner, saddled up to the picnic table with my steak and Sam Adams Octoberfest and....... No opener. Back into the house to grab the Beer Scout. This time it stayed in my pocket.

I really love the barlow, but I'm not sure I can live without my Beer Scout.
