The Beer Scout Knife

I really like these! ... No, love these! :D I am new to traditional's but this knife really strikes my fancy. I like beer, I like knives, and I am really getting into traditionals so this knife scratches a few itches!

I see the last batch was made at around 2000 units. How often are they made? Any idea when the next batch will be here?

Thanks,
Ron

Ps. I called GEC to find out these questions for myself. They most likely won't run another batch until next summer or fall. She said 2000 units was the largest batch they've ever made and may not do that again. She said they have been getting calls daily about the beer scout knife however so if the calls keep coming in hopefully they will do a larger batch again. I already have my credit card out waiting... :)

They are great little knives. I bought two for myself (a Chestnut Sawcut Bone and a Tortoise Shell Acrylic), as well as a couple for Christmas gifts. I'm fairly new to traditionals as well (or at least new to GEC and the porch :)), and I didn't find out about these until after they were all sold out at the distributors/retailers. I wouldn't have been able to get ahold of the ones I did without the help of some of the guys on this forum! Keep an eye on the exchange, they seem to pop up fairly regularly there for a reasonable price.

Looks like a fun evening!!!! Great cigar too!!! [emoji106]
Enjoying the last few nights outside in shorts and a T-shirt. Not looking forward to it getting cooler. Looks like you are in Texas too, so I imagine you understand.

No bottles to be opened Friday oddly enough but seems like the snows almost here as well for us Notherners.

Very nice, Bob! Did you have to file the kick down to get the tip to sit down inside the liners after you reshaped it?

The best part is I didn't even notice the "re-shape" first time through the posts until the question of "re-shape?" was asked. Then looking again I saw it...meaning, it looks natural.
Really a nice and natural "re-shape."

Yes you posted it :D another piece of some of your finest work Bob. The surrounding foiliage with it's hues almost makes your bolster seem like it was shaped out of brass as well.

I completely dig this one! I only found out recently about the beer scout knives - I guess I am too late to the game to get one with that awesome saw cut bone. Man I would love to get one! Will there be some more made in the future?

I am in the same boat. Found out too late about them. I called GEC and they said next Summer or Fall will be the next batch. There are a few that come up on the exchange periodically so keep your eye on that.

Thanks for the information. I am indeed trying to watch the Exchange forum, but living in Europe I tend to miss the posts and these little fellas tend to sell fast.
