Sharp scissors + long leather lanyard = perfect leather lanyard.
That's a good 'un.
But wait a minute: we're affixing these bits o' leather to pocket knives, of which I have a notion you own more than one, and you're speaking of scissors.
The leather looks great with that knife!!!
Thanks!
As far as length goes, I tend to keep my fobs approximately the same length as the closed knife itself.
Ah, but see, this is no fob-- this is a
lanyard.

-- I achieved a roughly knife-length fob on my #83 (made soon after) without aiming for that, and you're right-- it does seem a good length:
(And pret-ty freaking awesome in its own simple right, if I do say so myself.)
However, while I don't mind the #83's sinking to the bottom of whatever pocket I drop it in, I'd like the fobyard on the thicker, heavier Scout to help keep it suspended upright in my pocket.
I just figured out that, with this current length, I can tuck the end knot (or knot plus slid bead) behind and atop my belt (without looping it through), and have the knife fall where I want it to in-pocket.
....Hmmm. I'll leave it this length a while longer.
(I'll leave it longer for a length?)
