The Beer Scout Knife

I pulled out my Beer Scouts, Soda Scout and Crown Lifter for some group pics today. I think my aesthetic favorites are the smooth ivory bone and the charred beer barrel oak. But the chestnut sawcut bone is very sweet, and could easily end up as the favorite on any given day. I’m fortunate to have two sawcuts. The ‘Most Used’ award easily goes to the natural paper micarta Soda Scout. It’s seen a ton of pocket time over the years, and an endless supply of beer caps.

Oh MY. The Wheel of Great Fortune. Let us pray.

This is the pattern that turned my eye to traditionals. I saw these funny/whimsical “beer scout knife” postings in general and was smitten. Been hooked on traditionals ever since....

They are a good gateway choice. Traditional but with enough real world practicality that a modern knife fan will understand them.

Any hints that they may be doing some soon? I can't seem to be in the right place at the right time to get one that comes up for sale.

The Boy Scouts of America sicked their lawyers on GEC, for use of the Beer Scout name. From what I understand, there will be no more Beer Scouts. :(

Well that sucks. Seeing how we are headed to non-gender specific scouts, there should be no problem.;)

Sad!! Does not bode well for the Beer Scout Knife Club!!:(
That's just plain BS!!

Could probably be won in court, but it would be too expensive!!

So what is the exact situation?

Did they abandon the trademark and cease making these? Or did they just abandon the trademark but will still produce them?
