The Beer Scout Knife

In some ways it’s a shame the beer scout knife has become a story of flippers and high auction prices, but I guess that’s inevitable.

For me they have a special significance. Here is a photo of one I gave to my younger brother back in Christmas 2015. I gave beer scout knives to my dad and older brother that Christmas too. They aren’t knife nuts like me but they all kept them.

When I go fishing in New Zealand I like to take my Dad’s beer scout with me in my pocket. It’s the only pocket knife he has and since airports and knives don’t mix, it’s the only knife I use. It’s my New Zealand fishing knife :)

These are some great memories and are what comes to mind when discussing the BSK.

I snagged a maroon micarta years ago, which got me into traditional. Is GEC ever running them again?

Read back in this thread- necer again. Boy Scout law suit threat.

Just hope that GEC will release a 15 cap lifter and call it something else.
