The Beer Scout Knife

These knives really have a lot to offer: sheepfoot blade, EO notch, screwdriver-caplifter, bail, new choices of handle covers. The timing, coming right on the heels of the TC Barlows, it's not the best for my knife budget. But these will be worth the investment!

How about those Beer Scout glasses on the GEC website?! Anyone know if they will be available for purchase? Or will they be one of those things you can just pick up at the Rendezvous?

The TC's will take the better part of a week. So I would expect these to start coming out late next week and begin arriving at dealers week after next. This may be GEC's largest run of production knives, not to mention the SFO's - so it will take a while for them to unwind.

The factory got a count from the dealers and then added a little buffer of their own so they could have some at their get-together. Sounds like dealers that have figured out how popular these will be have wiped out the buffer already. Either way after the reviews (if positive) start showing up on the forums, the remaining stock will probably go fairly quickly.

I think just the opposite. I really think these are going to go quickly. I won't speak to the secondary market end of things, but if this is one you're looking for and didn't get a reservation in, be ready for when they drop at the dealers.
 
The glasses will be available for purchase. They just gotta figure out how to ship them at a reasonable cost.
 
I requested three back in early May because I thought if I ordered one there'd be a chance they didn't have enough.
 
Yep, me too. Ordered three as well, counting the one I placed earlier today. Smooth bone, tortoise acrylic and Sunbrite. They won't last very long with many multiple orders!

I expect it to be popular but I don't think there would be any need to panic buy. I anticipate avaibility to be like the 15 sheepfoot that came out earlier, where you would have a several days to pick the ones you want.

I requested ivory bone, chestnut sawcut, and a soda scout in sawcut blood red bone.

Mike's had his pre-order open for weeks now and hasn't "sold out" of beer scouts yet. By comparison the TC Charlows were gone even before I received my IM notification!

The devil is in the details, but let me just say that if I wanted one - I would want to be locked in somewhere before they hit the market. There should be enough to go around, but I learned a long time ago not to speculate on such things.

Agreed. There's no excuse for anyone missing out on these with your early reserve still being open!!!! Anxiously awaiting mine... :D:cool:
