The Beer Scout Knife

Plus the tiny amount of TCs being made at one time versus these, there is no comparison. Huge factory run versus an SFO run, BIG difference!

Looks like there will be plenty of dealers that will have these. Again, imagine this knife with a long shield, bail and the EO notch. 2014 sunbrite Rendezvous Sheeplifter knife, 1 of 7 made I believe.

I'm really glad I got in for a couple of these. I'm in the camp of not caring about the name...but, knife is a bit redundant. But wait a minute, isn't "beer" on each beer bottle? Hmmm.

Like Mike already said, if there is a particular handle material you want I would certainly reserve it. Otherwise things will change and you will be left choosing something else. Again, imagine this knife with a long shield, bail and the EO notch. 2014 sunbrite Rendezvous Sheeplifter knife, 1 of 7 made I believe.

Very cool! I had one, but let it go. They went for a very reasonable price at the rendezvous, and I passed it along without markup... I have a feeling I'll be paying more for those I have reserved from this normal run.

Very excited about the cover materials though. Never had tortoise acrylic, and it seems like a really classic pattern.

I think it was due to the bail that it wouldn't be possible. Would have been nice though without the bail, framing the shield and knife all together with equal end cap bolsters.

I imagine that with a bail, and an EO notch, an end cap would have been problematic. I can see it, but adding an end cap...probably would have cost enough in time, labor, Quality Control... It would be an expensive knife.

If this is as successful for GEC as it looks to be, maybe a future run will have ECs instead of EOs. Imagine the possibilities for future variations on the Beer Scout. I doubt this will be the last time we see them on the production schedule. [emoji2]

I just spent all my beer-money on Broadway Jacks ... but somehow I find it hard to resist the Beer Scout.
Just wondering what handle material it should be?!

I'm imagining a composite of these three knives for my SFO; the color of the Cherry Burl (top) and the shield of the "Harness-Lifter" on the venerable EO 'scout' platform, only with brass/NS construction. This will be MY 'Grail' knife! ;)

The bail will be removable. Just sayin'.

What type of wood is this middle knife, ebony or cocobolo? Really like the chocolate color.

These knives really have a lot to offer: sheepfoot blade, EO notch, screwdriver-caplifter, bail, new choices of handle covers. The timing, coming right on the heels of the TC Barlows, it's not the best for my knife budget. But these will be worth the investment!

How about those Beer Scout glasses on the GEC website?! Anyone know if they will be available for purchase? Or will they be one of those things you can just pick up at the Rendezvous?

Just made preorder from Mike's shop to Join The BEER SCOUT Knife Club glass. You got a cap opener...need a beer glass to put the golden/amdber or black into...what you prefer.
You'll have to make sure you get a scout knife ordered so he can send things all at once to save on shipping.
I preordered a set of four...getting a BSK along with the SFO red saw cut...which that and the linin micarta are already in the red zone. I think I will gift a couple of the glass'.
Mike told me he will probably pick up these preorder at the rendezvous,...depending on the if gets a bunch of orders.

very anticipated knives and glass' to boot. I was at a party recent and the host did not have a opener ready at the makeshift bar....no worries as I reach for my alox farmer...BUT I was carrying a swaybackgent for the party ooooh nooooo!!!!. Disappointed everyone around me. while some wise gut twisted open a Corona....

I suspect the SFO's from the various dealer may go qiuckly.

That's a long shield! I can't see what it says... is it "Official Beer Scouts of America club knife"? ;) Just joking but I think they should have used "beer scout" instead. They look good but I prefer the "scout" shield on the SFO.
