The Beer Scout Knife

Just got the email Mike, great photo as always. What is in that mystery bottle anyhow? Always wondered~

I am fully embracing the ostentatious nature of this knife, as luckily I do not take myself too seriously :D It's like Frankenstein's cap-lifter, a mishmash of every feature the forum hive-mind clamors for.

I'm getting a headache trying to narrow down which ones of these to order. I'm already in for ivory bone and micarta, but cocobolo and sunbrite are calling my name. They honestly all look good. Aargh. And I already have a diamond radio jack. I'm going to have to drink A LOT more beer to justify this many caplifters. If drink at least five beers a sitting I could use each one once, not too unreasonable.

I think when somebody posts the first ebony with the etch worn off, there won't be to much humorous laughing, more of...why didn't I get in on That beauty! (btw, I did not get in on it, rats).

I also see the humor in the new run of Bear Scouts. It is what I like about them. I even ordered a sun bright version to take camping. It gets dark when you get far from the camp fire. I nee something easy to find to open my beer.

Your grandpa didn't drink after church got out?

LOL. A real Methodist, he may have had a sip of champagne at my wedding, but that is about it.

You put it much more succinctly than my rambling...

But what will you do when GEC comes out with another 4 or 5 variations next year or the year after? Beer bash at Payton's house?!

The stream moved quietly under the shadow of the Drifter
who cooled his feet as he torqued his cap lifter.
A splash of the drink was spilled to honor the creel of fresh trout
that would soon be opened with the blade of his Beer Scout.

I just figure I'll have friends over for Super Bowl Sunday and during the World Series and pass the cap lifters to each person for their personal use during the game thereby taking no responsibility for encouraging their usage of said cap lifters. (huh?)

the trout tasted the splash of Bell's two hearted
whilst gliding through the stream and darted
quick and silent as a whisper
to the baited hook cast by the drifter

Patiently (yeah right). Waiting for a Sunbrite Beer Scout! Laughing at myself a bit here, but this combination of features (sheepsfoot, caplifter, Sunbrite, #15 frame) will be fun and that is what it is all about.

Also, for what it is worth, I kinda wonder f a truely traditional slip joint just might not include personal modifications. Some knives were made by hand from scratch materials back then. Some still are today. A guy making his own knife, or having it made for him, might include some personal feature that meets a need or want....... Jus wonderin....

But good luck getting those folders back...:)

Ok, I've got a Sunbright on the way and was wondering....does Sunbright glow in the dark cause I thought only Nifebright did? Also I have a chestnut sawcut bone reserved and was wondering if anyone has another gec with that bone on it so I could see a pic. Thanks

SunBrite Acrylic also Glows in the Dark. It is a darker, richer yellow color than KnifeBrite which is sort of greenish yellow.
