The Beer Scout Knife

I'm sorry about that Mike. Yep, a "fragile" designation is almost like the "wet paint" sign.
Thanks for going out on a limb with those glasses. I know that we all appreciate the effort you put into the Beer Glass Club special, but now it's back to knives and a near 100% survival rate though the postal system.
Btw...splain orm-d???
Here ya go lol

ORM-D*is a marking for mail or shipping in the United States that identifies other regulated materials for domestic transport only. Packages bearing this mark contain hazardous material in a limited quantity that presents a limited hazard during transportation, due to its form, quantity, and packaging.

Ah hah. Thank you sir. Trying to add some smartness everyday to a losing battle.

Anyone wanna see a side by side to see just how close GEC came to the real celluloid? Yep, they came very close! The other knife is an SFO also done by Bill Howard while he was still working at Queen, for Charlie Campagna. There were only two of these made because of limited materials available. The man knows his stuff!

Really enjoying all the photos of the beer scout. I'm still waiting for micartaaaa. Great knives Perry

Thanks Tim! The waiting is the hardest part!
Ain't that the truth. I've got one that's lost in the USPS system. It shipped on the 2nd. It bounced around several USPS facilities within the state it was shipped from only to return to it's original shipping point of origin. No updates or any other info as to it's where abouts since the 7th. They have no idea where it is. :(

Good golly, Bob! Sounds like they've been drinking too much beer while handling it!

Yeah, something tells me the sorting dept at the USPS has been having a good time with my BS. :grumpy:

I am so glad I came up to this forum and had a look around.

The Beer Scout Knife Too Funny!

Who knew?

I have been toying with the idea of a traditional folder for some time now. Never been much of a folder guy. Maybe because the few I was exposed to when I was young were junk.

I find the KA-Bar Dog's Heads in copper interesting pieces. And northwoods and GEC have many options. But to be truthful, I don't even know enough about what I would look for in a traditional folder to speak intelligently about them.

Then I stumbled onto this thread. "Tne Beer Scout Knife" seems to possibly be a good jumping in point. One blade, screwdriver, and the all too necessary bottle opener.

As of late I have been trying to carve spoons and other assorted woods crafty projects. So I may look for a more dedicated carver. But I got quite a kick out of TBSK. Almost worth it, just to have a knife that says that.

Being a fixed blade guy, I never really saw the need for a knife with more than one or two blades. But I freely admit that is my ignorance on the subject. Not actual ecperience. As I venture more into carving, I see the reasoning behind several blades contained in one small package.

I am reading my way through this thread now. But felt the need to chime in.

Good to have you in the forum. Hang around for awhile, there are some super nice and knowledgeable people here. Friendly, you know?

Hope it arrives soon to you Bob, USPS can be a real pita before and after July 4th week. If it's in Lexington I'll be happy to pick it up for you ;)
