And now you know the rest of the story! Ladies and gentlemen, the author of the design! Beautiful Evan!:cool::cool:

Unless someone can stake a better claim, this pattern might be known as the Beer Scout, aka Evan's Jack! Or maybe a Florida Jack!

Some of the most beautiful carbon fiber on a knife handle EVAN! I mean,,,EVER!
Great, Steve!

Perry

Besides the cap lifter, the sheepsfoot is a natural for the #15. Thumbs up!

I personally would rather not have beer scout stamped on the shield, I would prefer the simple scout shield used on the previous run of scout knives. I wonder if the smooth handle versions will not be stamped as GEC has generally avoided doing a stamped shield with the smooth handle materials.

I am curious about this as well for both the smooth handle variations. In all.. 'beer scout' will make a conversation piece and all the other criteria of this knife seem perfect for me. I'm just glad and lucky to hopefully be getting one.

Wow, this makes my night. Can someone fill me in on reserving one though?

I got nothing against beer (certainly drink my share), but I agree with pistonsandgears on the shield.

"Beer Scout" shielded on the side of your knife is ...cute. A little too much so. It won't wear well. Not fit for a proper knife.

Kinda like putting "beerlow" on the side of a venerable TC barlow (with caplifter - next run??)

The knife shield should just say "Scout" like the prior run. We can then all affectionately nickname it the "beer scout" - My two cents.

Otherwise this new knife is perfect. Can't wait to get my hands on one. First thing I'll do is crack open a beer and celebrate.

Done, thanks for the link and sorry for the ignorance.

Since there will be bone models, the end cap would leave a tiny sliver of fragile bone near the EO cut out. Many, many old EO jacks have a piece of bone missing there, and I think this issue drove the barehead/EO notch config.

This will be a very cool knife, though. Sort of like a Radio Jack in that it is a 15 pattern with brass frame and NS bolster, only with the excellent and office friendly sheepfoot blade, and the EO notch just puts it over the top!

Imagine Brazilian Bloodwood covers....

Glad to hear these are coming around....Brazilian Bloodwood covers??? I wish.....

Mike at CK just announced an SFO "soda scout" just like the production run but with a "Scout" shield. Whew, for a second I thought the shield was gonna say "Soda Scout"...

Excellent covers on these - natural linen micarta and blood red sawcut bone!!

I'm in for a micarta "soda" scout and a chestnut beer scout. Nice to be in the front lines for once.

Thanks for the soda scout SFO Mike.

I just jumped in for the micarta Soda Scout also.

My love for knives with bails will be the death of my wallet this summer.
