That's a really nice picture of the chestnut Eric...I have to agree that the cocobolo is the nicest looking BS so far, but that Bloodwood Barry posted is a LOOKER with that bowtie.

Carrying the chestnut, but received the micarta soda scout today. I think I would have preferred canvas micarta. You can't see any weave in the linen. So far, of the six I have I would rate them as such:
1) Cocobolo
2) Tortoise Shell
3) Chestnut Sawcut
4) Natural Linen Micarta
5) Smooth Ivory Bone
6) Gabon Ebony
I have a bloodwood on the way and would also like to pick up the KSF camel bone.
Derrick, is that chain something new? Dang you, I now have another reason to buy a knife or a chainHere's an orange one.

^There's no photography allowed in the beer cooler...is there?![]()
I know but my new BS is incorrigible![]()

I dig that dangler set up, I might have to make one.
I didn't take to the bail, so I removed it and had a hell of a time fitting the leather lace through the SMALL lanyard hole... lots of skeining, twisting, sore fingers and resorting to needle nose pliers, but the result was worth it.
Light brown slabs, medium and dark brown leather lanyard.
And a shot of the Natural Linen VS the Natural Canvas.
I like the Linen; however, I think I prefer the rough weft and weave of the Canvas. Both knives are smooth, the Canvas is just more visually interesting.

use fishing line next time - works great to get thicker lace through smaller holes.

These black specks are present to some extent on almost every white bone knife of theirs I've seen, if one looks closely.
Meanwhile, mine came in, and it is just too cool:

... and I still don't even like beer.
[It has some black near the rear ridge of the pile side cut out. I don't mind it, but will try to get a picture of it soon as a reference point for the above, what I've seen and come to expect to some degree with smooth white bone.]

Most all of the Smooth Ivory bone models have pepper spots to some extent due to the finishing process and is part of 'the nature of the beast'. The buffing compound finds its way into every crack or crevice (and pores in bone) and I think is also the usual culprit on those knives that have a sluggish action. A good toothbrush scrubbing with hot water & detergent wouldn't hurt, but won't remove all of the specks. Make sure you blow the water out with air or WD-40 and dry and oil the knife after.
