The Beer Scout Knife

It's your prerogative, of course, but what do you use your knife for if it can't ever turn colors?

A little Flitz applied weekly will keep the patina away, and then you can use your knife for what it was intended--cutting stuff.

I typically carry a traditional and a modern knife everyday. Traditional gets most tasks and the modern gets food. I wipe all my carbon knives down with a tuff cloth when they come out of my pocket at night, but that just prevents any food prep even more.

Am I missing something or is that shield missing something?
I guess it is a SFO. See at GEC 's site.

@GuestWho101 : You're welcome, to take pix in the right places and have a beer or two!

I want to thank everyone for their positive comments on the 'Gun Scout' SFO! I'm very pleased with the way they came out, and anyone who hasn't gotten theirs yet won't have much longer to wait.

One note of concern; In my rush to receive and ship the knives ASAP to everyone, I didn't have time to check each and every knife, in fact, I only checked about half of them, so some did slip out with issues. (At least one did, anyway) So, if you get one that is cracked or otherwise defective, please contact me immediately for a replacement.

I hope I have one left for myself after the dust settles! :)

Trust me when I say "I know how lo-o-o-ng it seems to take the USPS to deliver sometimes, but it will be worth the wait!

Mike, where the heck is my SC red ???:rolleyes:;):D

Absolutely stunning photos here! Too many to individually list. Great knives and great photographers.

It looks like your Bloodwood Gun Scout SFO is a hit, Barry! I'd say it is very close to the favorite one from all the comments.:thumbup:

I'm having one of those "I really wish I had bought that" moments. :):(

Well just to clarify I like in fact love the design, yes bottle caps are antiquated, although here in Texas we drink a good bit of Topo Chico and Mexican sodas like Jarritos but in truth the screwdriver tip has more every day use, but look how popular SAK's are and many/most still include bottle openers

Thanks for the tip, tsa. This stuff is great. Not all that common in my neck of the woods, though. Oh, and the knife: it’s my first sheepfoot and one of my better built GECs. I bought it with the intention of adding it to my wood shaping lineup, but it's ended up as my traditional carry.

^^^^^ Haha, I see what you did there. ;)

Yes, it's missing "something" on purpose. It was a SFO for Derrick Bohn (KnivesShipFree).

I wish :o, but living in an apartment complex has its boundaries.

Hehe, the secret is..... most of the pictures you see before you were taken with a measly 5mp camera phone, white cardboard, and a desk lamp. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade I guess is what I'm trying to say. I've noticed though the more reflective the object (e.g.) polished blades, satin finishes, the more problematic the glare when I'm brightening the photos. I've thought about diffusing the lighting with white sheets, but enjoy the ease of my 3 piece system. Which probably takes all of 5 to 10 minutes to setup and put away depending on how many knives and pictures I take. :)

^^^^^ At first glance, as I was strolling it appeared you had two BSK's (a big one and a little one). I was about say "hey, where did you get that miniature BSK?" Then I noticed it was just a misconception, because the pictures weren't spaced a part, haha.

Nice toys, by the way!

It looks beautiful! We're you attempting to tone down the brightness of the scales or reduce the red tone?

Finally got my Cocobolo model. WOW! She's a dandy. Beautifully and flawlessly executed. Hope these crappy camera pics do justice to this beautiful wood.
