The Beer Scout Knife

My bloodwood made it here today. It does have the burr.Chestnut very slight burr.Cocobolo no burr. The blood wood is just beautiful,I am very glad I got one.

Early morn photography round 5 before the day started. Love these covers. Definitely lighter than my micarta but the sheen and lustre is astounding with that diagonal grain.

*singing* Oh where oh where can my Gunscout be, where oh where can it be..... :(

Seeing all of these wonderful pics just makes the waiting worse, I am not sure why I visit this thread everyday.

I have to wonder this as well.
I took 200 grit followed by 400 grit to mine to knock the shine / polish off. I got a nice little pile of powder; however, never saw any sign of thread or fabric.

Not that it matters greatly to me - of my Beer Scouts, this one was going to be the 'user' anyway.

For good luck! Honestly, that is why it was added.

Do we have any confirmation that the micarta is actually paper, or just the testing that has been done to actually show the linen fibers?

I don't want to cast any shadows or doubt, but I don't think it should be portrayed as linen if it ideed is not.

I know this is negative and I sincerely apologize but is there a way to get one without the "Beer Scout Knife" lettering? I can see why you guys love this knife and I truly want one - except that name looks so cheesy. I mentally see this knife in the Cracker Barrel store on a shelf between a singing fish and a candy pooping moose toy.

Thanks to GEC for daring to have fun... and thanks to Mike, Barry and Derrick for adding to the fun.

Ravager...There's only two SFO's without any type of writing on the shield, the Gunscout and the...what are we calling the other one? Camel Scout?

I love this little knife....

Ravager, there is one by GunstockJack that doesn't have anything on the shield and also one that we had made for us.

Barry's knife is the one in the center.

Way to go MerrymadMonk!:thumbup::thumbup: You're my hero!:eek:;):)

Just got my Brazillian Bloodwood in the mail and its wonderful, the wood has this shimmer throughout the whole handle. Thought I would do a quick picture in the office.

This brings my #15 collection up to 3 although I may be cutting a Beer Scout loose to make room for the upcoming TCs and 77 Barlow.

Great job on this one Barry
