The BEST Knife For Under $20?

If you look certain online retailers have the smaller Kershaw NRG for $19.99 like someone already said. Its probably the best knife deal out there right now.

will agree on the victorinox...they are considerably more expensive where i live but they take abuse that no other knife i've daily used could (I did snap the blade on one i'd had for 10 years but thats what i get for prying with it).

Great slicers and keep their edge...along with having handy tools, the soldier is great and i intend on buying another in the next couple weeks. :)

+ 100 to this ! for a few bucks more you can score the larger model too !

Kershaw has one of the best warranties out there and the quality is top notch considering how little many of thier great knives cost.

Lots of good suggstions so far , the Byrd line is quite nice but you are not getting Kershaw warranty there.

I bought my girlfriend a pink Dozier Ka-bar and she loves it , I too was very impressed with the quality considering how much it cost , you cannot go wrong with one of those Dozier's.

Opinels and SAK's are fine for what they are and should be part of everyones collection but they both fall short compared to most of Kershaws offerings , in my opinion.

I believe the Mercator K55K is right about $20. For something so deeply rooted in military history, it's quite the knife for the money. It isn't a one-handed opener, mind you, and it's carbon steel, so it'll rust if you're not careful, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I don't have any personal experience, but I've heard good things about the Bladetech Ganyana which is pretty much exactly $20.

If you're just looking to save money you can get a box cutter with replacable blades for under $10. If it were me I would pay $10 more and get a Spyderco Persistence.

Hey ladies and gentlemen, Iv'e been looking for a good EDC blade for under $20. Money is very tight in my household, and I am considering a good, inexpensive blade. I am a full time high school student, and money is hard to find. So any good suggestions? I am thinking about a CRKT Drifter or a Byrd Cara Cara.
I'm a newer knife collector (2 Years to be exact). I'm also saving to get my girlfriend a pink Delica. But she'll settle for her Pika II for another few months.
So throw them' suggestions out kiddies!

Thank you,
-Jack W
(And no, I don't bring my knives to school.)
Money cant be that tight too where you cant get a $40 knife, and if it is you shouldnt be buying anything.

OP is a high school student saving up his discretionary money. I don't see why he can't set a reasonable budget of $20.

+1

I'm a freakin college student. $40 bucks is a trip to walmart to buy food so I can survive for a couple weeks. If I get any new knives with my own money in the near future it will be a Byrd, Opinel, Mora, or KABAR Dozier.

Today I bought a Buck Vantage Select. In America it goes for 23usd I think.

Here in NZ it goes for....more than 23usd.:p

GREAT knife. Solid, good design. Personally, I'd say this is the deal of the year. Locks up perfectly.

I was looking for the Vantage Pro, with s30v steel and g-10 (which is America goes for 43usd), but thanks to the fact I don't live in the magical world that is America they didn't have the s30v model available. Oh well. No biggie, the 420hc is actually a very good performer, if you don't mind the steel snobs looking down at you (I don't).

Great low ride pocket clip, AMERICAN MADE product. Has a flipper, which is a first for me. I'm happy with it.

I have over a hundred knives and Ill say that I carry the Kershaw NRG everyday along with a Swiss Champ plus and the NRG is a great knife. I love that thing.
