The Bk1... Worth it?

Hello guys.

I just saw a brute for sale for around $200 and am deciding whether or not to buy it. I was going to get a new Machax, but this brute is brand new and I've always kind of wanted one. It's a sexy blade, who can blame me. Should I buy it, or just get a Machax?

P.S. I've heard someone on the site redoes the edges of brutes to make them chop as we'll or better than the bk9. Who is it?
 
I've never been interested in the Brute, but if I have the green, I'd spring for it....just so I can say I have one. Sorry that this was no help.
 
No problem. I really want it, but the Machax is cheaper... Urgh! I've got extra dough, just need an object (or two :D ) of desire...
 
Buy it if you want it for a collection but for actual use the BK4 or 9 will perform better.

If I were you I'd get it for around $200. However, if it's the one listed on the world famous auction site, I would expect to pay substantially more....I doubt it will go for anything near that $199 opener.....bid on it anyway, though, as the Machax is always available, for about a 1/3 of what that thing will probably sell for.

It cuts fine once you reprofile the edge a bit. Resistance is futile.

It is the one on ebay. As someone already bid $199 (looks like it went from opening bid to current bid) I expect I'd have to pay a lot more than $200, and I just can't justify that. I'll post a new thread when I get my new toy.

Side note: on ebay a blackjack Machax is going for $479.99 as a starting bid, and a blackjack bk2 for $279.99. I think that's A little ridiculous, don't you? No bids yet.

I though it would be one of you guys... Urgh... The bk1 is my grail, but I have to think of expenses. I'll probably end up not bidding. So sad :( but if I do, I'll post tomorrow...
 
I LOVE the way the Brute looks. Ethan said "I like the Brute, but I LOVE the 9", and he designed them both.
I have handled one and I think its a great blade, personally, but so is the 9

See, this is what happens at your age when all your cash is discretionary. I've spent that much in a single trip to the grocery store.....now, if only we could stop eating (and taking showers, and heating the house and paying the mortgage......) maybe I could justify that kind of cha-ching for a single knife. But I'd rather get a 4, 10 & a 17 for the same amount...and still have some grocery money left over. I'm not saying I never will, but at this time I'd rather have a collection of Beckers rather than a collectible Becker.
 
I believe moose did a chopping comparison with the brute and a bunch of other beckers, but I can't find it. Could someone please send me a link?
 
warrior machax and Reinhardt combat kukri on thE bay as well .... very highly priced.
