The Bk1... Worth it?

You bum! :) I suppose you're going to bring it to lunch and make me drool over it.

Hmmmm, how much is my BK-6 worth to you? Want me to bring it to lunch? (on second thought, maybe not. I'm sure Misty wouldn't mind, but some of the other patrons might think we're weird!)

Not gonna happen today. Should ship in a day or so; hopefully next Thursday. Like I said, I'll let you fondle it....

I have one, I like to touch it sometimes...

Exactly...

you people :)

What? What?

(said with quizzical expression - a smily with smile and question marks, which I could not find)

Congrats Dubz!

You know that means that you're going to have to post pics!
Thanks man, super stoked about getting it. Have wanted one for a few years now. You know I'm a photo takin' fool...

That is excellent, Dubz. I'm really looking forward to some of your "glamour" shots! Couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy. Aren't you glad you didn't bail on this place a month ago ;)?

Eh, I wouldn't have bailed. Not completely anywhos.

I'm glad that you will have fun with it. Realize that It will be shipped with slightly modified original scales and a swedge sharpened with an axe file years ago. I will post up a pre shipping pic or two. This was a user and not a pristine knife, and I don't want to disappoint you. But it IS a big thick mama jama. I will send it with a tracking number to follow, hopefully get it out tomorrow.

Dayum, Dubz. That'll be fun. Probably be able to work up a sweat just swinging that thing, even now in the cold. You're gonna have to learn to be ambidextrous or you'll end up all bulked up on your dominant side. The thickness gives me a good idea of how all those medieval swordsman must have developed some serious physical lopsidedness swinging around a 3 foot piece of steel/iron/? - plus probably tendinitis in their middle age.
Very sweet.

It was sent today and I mailed you the tracking number. I hope that you have some fun with it. ;)

Ah, too late to get the brute from anyone. Oh well. Have fun with it Warrior!

P.S. If anyone has one and wants to sell/trade it, feel free to come to me.

I just got a brute last month and I must say that I really like the blade. It's one of my favorite large Beckers and I hope to make it one of my primary blades. Maybe it's the sexy curves or maybe the fact that it is hard to find and I found one?

It is a heavy blade and I have done some mods to mine to make it fit my needs. Still working on it but here is the link if you are interested. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1132313-My-BK-1-Bute-Modification-UPDATED

The BK-9 will probably do everything you need it to do and you can get them for a lot cheaper than a BK-1 so no you don't need a brute, but you may want one as many of us Beckerheads do. But I was not as happy with it until I did a few mods. So I'd say unless you already have a BK-9 and have $150-$250 to blow on a blade, then it is not worth it.

I on the other hand have three Bk-9's and two BK-4's so the next logical purchase was a BK-1! lol Yes I'm addicted and don't mind wasting money on blades for my collection.

I really do think it has a lot of potential and have used mine almost every day for the last month to process my fire wood. But on the down side, I do notice the weight even after I have shaved of a few ounces.

Wish Ka-bar would produce it but doesn't look like that is going to happen.

Congrats Warrior!!! Your going to love it.
