THE BLADE SHOP.com??

Thanks for the warning. I tried getting a Protech from them but they were all out. I'll be looking somewhere else.

I ordered a Protech from them and it showed up in three days. Could be whoever is manning the ship or taking care of orders that day.

With this company it is hit or miss. Why bother taking the chance when there are so many dealers that do not have this problem? I have a hard time believing that it's worth it just to save a few bucks.

Your absolutly right about taking chances. I usually shop NewGraham, NicNac and PlazaCutlery. Unless I cannot find what I am looking for anywhere else, I opt sometimes to get a little risky.

yes I've bought from them and I highly suggest that you DON'T! they are a rip off. I've been trying to get money back from them since the middle of November. They owe me a $128 and everytime I call they say it will be back in my acct. by the end of the week and it's never there. They know how to say the right things but never deliver. Literally.

I've been dealing with them since the middle of november to get my $128 back. Every week they say it's coming every week it doesn't. So I call again. Guess this will be the routine till something gets done. I don't know what else to do. they are crooks. If you've never done business with then keep it that way. They will take your money and never send the product. When you cancel they won't give you your money back.

i'm just gonna say thebladeshop sucks again. it just feels good to get it out. they just suck.

These people are crooks. Plain and simple. I placed an order in December and immediately got an email saying "The .... you ordered is currently on backorder. We expect more to arrive in approximately 1-2 week(s). We will place your order on backorder until more arrive. If you need to make any changes to your order or assistance selecting an alternative model, please feel free to call us toll free at 1-877-291-1328" I called, was told not only did they not have the item in stock, but they basically would never have it. I cancelled the order and then found out 2 days later that they charged my card that day anyway! Several calls were made and I got the same promise that a credit had been issued immediately and "it would take a few days to appear on my statement". They never did anything. After a week, I filed a complaint with my CC company and had the card canceled as they had also kept in on their files and it was impossible to remove in the "account settings". This happened a month ago - Stay away from these people! The site is a scam to steal money and CC numbers. Beware!!!

ONCE AGAIN, THESE GUYS ARE NOT A STOCKING DEALER! YOU GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY AND THEY GO LOOKING FOR YOUR KNIFE. IF THEY CAN'T FIND IT, SORRY! THEY'LL GET AROUND TO REFUNDING YOUR MONEY LATER.

A few extra bucks is worth the headache. www.onestopknifeshop.com, www.newgraham.com, www.2brothersknife.com and www.cuttingedgeworks.com are among some of the best out there. There are many others you'll find in this forum.

EDDIE LOVEDAY IS A CROOK.

update: I finally got my money back after 2 mos of hassling them and chastising them on what business ethics are. They don't care about loosing business. I don't know how they stay in business except for the fact if you search online knife dealers on google they are the first to pop up. that's why I attempted to do business with them. learned my lesson.
oh and by the way they have a "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau. I will never go to their site again and I will wave everyone I come in contact with away from them. They are crooks.

Finaly got my knife yesterday unless you want wait months and dont want to get any replys e-mailed back to you do not order from the blade shop . IF YOU DID GOOD LUCK !

Like a moron, I ordered knives twice from The Blade Shop. It took a month to get my first item, and they charged me $20 for 2nd day delivery. I don't know what possessed me, but I did it again. I ordered another knife, paid $20 for 2nd day shipping, and nothing. I called The Blade Shop, spoke to a nice lady who told me my knife had been shipped. Days later, still nothing. They can't give tracking numbers for their orders, but they're sure as h*** able to bill your credit card the same day.

Buy your knives from companies with proven track records. There is no reason to purchase from companies like thebladeshop.com.

To say about The Blade Shop that they do not carry inventory is like making a compliment to them. They are crooks plain and simple, they lie ("Sir, we are so big that we asked Lone Wolf to make a special run of T3s for us"), they get your money and do not refund you until way after you lose your patience and threaten legal action, then they send you an e-mail saying that your refund has been authorized, and you wait another 20 days until you actually get your money back.
It is almost impossible to communicate with them by e-mail on a normal time-frame (they answer you after a week or so), and their phone lines are always conveniently busy. But yes, Elizabeth does have a nice voice.
What beats me is that with all the warnings about those small-time con artists posted on different forums, people still buy from them (I was one of those schmucks, too).

I have purchased from them in the past with okay results, but when I recently went to place a fairly large order they never picked up the phone. I ended up ordering from BladeMatrix, they met The Blade Shops low prices and sent my merchandise very quickly. I would be very leery of a company that does not pick up the phone in the middle of a work day, I tried the sales and customer service lines with no luck.

Am I the only that does a quick google search BEFORE ordering ANYTHING from a web site I don't know?

I just googled "the blade shop". Here are the first 5 links returned:
1. The first link is their site.
2. The very next link is some rating site giving them a rating of .67 out of 10.
3. A link to complaints here on bladeforums.
4. Complaintsboard.com
5. Ripoffreport.com

Unbelievable. I guess that's how they stay in business. Buyer beware.

but like i said bradley cutlery's website told me to buy from there. thay have it as a recommended site to buy bradley knives

knifeshiter - My post was not directed at you and I feel bad that the Bradley site has the blade shop as a recommended dealer. Hopefully, you either get your knife or a refund. Keep us posted.

I just find it strange that people will give their credit card number to a web site they don't know without 2 seconds of research. If you don't know the site, give it the stink eye:
1. Do they have contact info listed (most importantly: phone and mailing address)
2. Reputation (look at multiple sources - certainly NOT their site)
3. When you do actually start to pay, is the web page secure/encripted?
