The BladeForums 2022 Traditional Knife Thread

Perhaps and the Canadian/European quota has yet to be filled but at least it means that those who really want one will be getting one. 500 is a tidy number and there are not 500 regular contributors to the Traditional Forum anyway so it means it is a Forum Knife for all who are eligible. Those who enjoy mounting a self righteous high horse about 'outsiders' and post boosters are thus shown to be gatekeepers of hypocrisy and insularity.

Thanks to Spark and Waynorth (and anyone else involved) for making this happen for 2022!

I placed my preorder for 1.

I would take a second…….it would be going to a BF friend New Zealand

Amen Brother Will!

Hopefully no one will miss out this year given the extra time and extremely smooth process. If anyone does, they certainly are welcome to mine.

Actually I am kind of glad to see that they did not all sell out in a flash. September and October are super-busy times for me at work, and I don't check the forum frequently during those times. Last year, I missed out because I was a day late. Nice that people have enough time so that everyone eligible has a shot.

As it so happens I had just logged in when this thread was posted so I got in early, but nice to think that, had I not, I would not have missed out like last year.

I’ve been trying to notify regulars that I haven’t seen online, hate to see anyone miss out.

same, someone alerted me the other year, and I was glad to return the favor especially to a few folks who turned out to have major life events going on.

I agree. There may be a few folks who tend to check in just on the weekends. I'd suggest waiting until Monday before opening it up to selling second knives.
I'm not in charge, of course, and trust the process. Thanks to everyone making this possible.

All this talk about offering seconds already seems awfully premature. It's only been what, two or three days?? Geez I'd give it at least a week or two before even thinking about it.

Eric

I'm not worried. If they sell out they sell out. If they don't then I'll flip the extras to regular members for 400%

OR MORE

Just kidding

Or am I?

Will the knives have a Certificate Of Authenticity like serialized GEC knives used to have or is it too much additional work? Without it, there's nothing to stop the less than scrupulous from buffing off the number on the bolster and selling it on 'sterile' or 'anon'
I just might sand and buff the number of mine to make it "special". Maybe give me something to do some afternoon. If somehow, I wind up with number 13, I'll definitely leave it be though...
