The BladeForums 2022 Traditional Knife Thread

This thread is giving me an hankerin' for some Hasenpfeffer. 🤤
No way they'll put  that on the menu though ... even if I supply fresh bunny, all the other ingredients, and offer to prepare and cook it. ☹️
We're lucky to get fish that isn't in stick or patty form, or canned. ☹️

I feel like there's been a few times I was expecting "ebony" from GEC and they used macassar ebony and the knife I got had a good bit of brown.

Anybody know for sure they are using Ebony? Either way, I will be happy with what I get, but just a bit more anticipation if not macassar.

Also wondering if the etch got sorted out.. Was it decided to use the big bold B U N N Y etch?

That seems to be a recurring theme with knives here on the porch. Just say no to flipping a knife.
In my case it was a double entendre, regarding don't flip it around and cut yourself (because the poster liked that the blades were both on the same end and he didn't have to flip it), and also just don't flip it for sale

One thing that I like about this folder is that you have access to both blades from the same side.
So you don’t have to flip it around to open the second blade

I'm the opposite I prefer the nicks being on opposite sides. The Pony Jack being a similar size to this one is a good example of how having both nailnicks on the same side is a little cramped. The 54 Big Jacks have the nicks on opposite sides and it works well to me. So I guess I do like flipping knives er rotating the knives to get to the other blade. 🤣

This is what I mean by cramped, a pony Jack compared to two case jacks

Index finger over the top to open the blade in the back. No flipping. 😉

Could it be? that the etch has been engineered to sort the wolves from the dogs?
The tigers from the pussycats? The saints from sinners? The snakes from the slugs?...the faithful grom the flippers?
