I'd say that's about right. My hands are somewhat large, so the handle may appear a little smaller than it would be for others.Seems to me that the grip is long enough to enable several grip positions: You could choke up for quick snap cuts, standard grip in the middle, or choke back against the flare for more powerful chops.
The more I look at that handle, the more puzzled I become. That doesn't look much like those samples of the green canvas Jerry posted a while back (I would include that pic, but I don't know how). Is it the lighting, or the blade color, or a different batch, or something else...?

Maybe all of the above. How the material layers are cut affects the look.
