"The Boys Of Summer" (or..."Hiding In The Shadows")

I love every knife in that pic Elliott... but come to think of it I've never seen a knife of yours I didn't love.

I also like the shadows. Like you said, there hard to beat for lightweight carry in summer, or any other time of year IMO.

Thems all beauties for sure. With the blade shape (looks to be a modified drop point) of the Dowell knife, I could see that becoming a favorite hunting knife.

The redish/ amber bone Halfrich knife is still making me drool :D

Very nice lineup of knives!:thumbup::thumbup:

I've been slowly draw back to shadow pattern knives for the lightweight and simple beauty of them. My old yella soddie has been carried a lot of late. Plus the soddie pattern can be pinched open easier for 'older' hands.

Sometimes simple is a good thing.

Sorry my brother, figured I better get that in before Robuck saw it. :D.

It’s Elliott’s penchant for going “commando” in the summertime that really has me grateful for his superb lineup of lighter EDCs. Way to hang Elliott!

Couple of Bose shadows that see some pocket time:

I was beginning to worry, Mikey...Now I can breathe easier (and keep my shorts from getting in a twist. That is...when I wear 'em). :p

That's a great lineup Elliott. They're all great knives but that amber bone Halfrich is speaking to me! ;)

Exemplary lookin' lightweight lineup you have there, Elliott. Really first rate. I particularly like those two Halfrich beauties. I gotta git me one o' them someday.

It's an outstanding knife, Gary, but not really a lightweight like the others.
I included it because it's a shadow and because it is an easy carry. (I have a couple other stout shadows that aren't really suited for the thread as a result of the larger volume/weight.)

That's a heck of a lineup, Elliot, but that Halfrich is still speaking to me. My wife and I will be in Asheville in a couple weeks, and I'll be sure to carry something light while I'm there.

They do, don't they? :thumbup::cool:

Not as "flashy" as a lot of the Bose knives, but durable enough to get the real work done.

I'm not like Campbell and the others who are willing to dig around in the mud with a ivory stockman that costs more than a lot of mortgage payments. ;)

What a great looking gaggle of pocket knives!
On related note I have no doubt it gets a tad warmish in the Carolinas but once summer comes to Tejas I can no longer carry a pocket knife. If you have one in your pocket and spend more than an hour or two outside in the sun, the heat treatment of the blade is completely toasted. I don't know how knives I ruined before I learned that lesson.

Mike, those two shadows by Tony look great!

Thanks. The swayback is M4 steel and the BP is 10V. The first owner of the BP had Tony grind the blade a little thinner than usual, which probably caused a few extra beads of sweat due to the steel's hardness.

Two rare birds, indeed! :thumbup:

Thomason,

I grew up in Brownsville in hot & humid deep south Texas so I know what you mean. We used to step into saunas in the summer just to cool off. ;)
