I am new to posting. Not new to site. Been on the fringes for several months now. Decided this would be my first because Dirty-Dave seems to be taking a beating. Not having any dealings with Fred @ knife center, I am reluctant to take a side. Sounds like Dave is using the forum appropriately. Nothing in the contract I just read baring a mans view or voicing dismay with a transaction. The veiled threat of a bad reputation that's hard to shake, seems would work both ways. I have followed some of Dave's leads and struck gold. One should be a little more hesitant to judge a man based on lack of tact. I think DD's postings may be earnest in nature, tact ... he still needs a little refinement. Hope I didn't stick my foot in my mouth, I enjoy reading the postings. wanted to say a few words in defense of DD, not jump in his boat.

Thanks for the knid words NW, but don't need anyone to stick up for me. I know my postings are "earnest" in nature. I am not a bad guy, just a very honest one. I guess, "discretion is the better part of valor". My tact is just fine. It's the interpretation of the information I submit that's questionable. I plan to *stand down* for awhile anyway.

Then caught an attitude because I didn't respond in a time-frame you felt necessary? I plead "no contest". C'mon guys! Brutal slamming? Looking for someone to hammer? Fer cryin' out loud! Look, you posted about your great transaction with Bob Curran in 10 freakin' forums. A little eager, so some of us point that out. No harm, no foul. Then you make post about Fred at Knife outlet, putting him down basically because you don't like his style or the fact that he wouldn't cave in to your demands that he slash his already low prices. Many respected forum members let you know that a post in the GB&U forum - which can have a big impact on a person's reputation - wasn't warranted for those reasons. If you call that brutal slamming, then maybe this place isn't for you. I suggest, however, that you put on a thick layer of skin and hang around awhile. If you think it's bad in here, just wait till you get out in the real world.

After that remark to Jake, slamming his line of work, I gotta tell you he is one fine dude and think the slam was unwarranted. It could be the reason for the name of this thread. But, I tend to agree with Jake on the split personality issue. Ever since you've been on the forum you've been really busy informing us of your misfortunes on different topics from guys that did not want to cater to your great deal requests, to knives that you thought were defective. Your all over the place and it's all been pretty negative. You are drawing attention to yourself, not like a shooting star but more like a drunk driver. This forum is about knives and if you really want the real deal experience for some really good tacticals and customs offered here, your going to have to spend more than the "under 60.00" that is posted in your profile.

You are always welcome here. We need all the new blood and enthusiasm here we can get. My point was to gently suggest that maybe you could slow down the posting for a while until you get the reflexes for how these forums run. I still think it is a valid point. Perhaps I should have taken this privately in an e-mail to you. If that is the case, you have my sincerest apologies.
Nuke, if what I and others have said is slamming, then other posts I can refer you to would be an outright train wreck! Please take a few slow breaths and CHILL.
