The Busse Custom Shop Is Proud To Announce The Return Of The Legendary MOAB!!! . . . Coming Sunday 4-30-2023 At 9:00PM Eastern!

Thats what I got (and ulticlip) on a few kydex sheaths I have, but imho dangler like on my leather sheaths is much better, I don't really like em riding that high
😁 with a blade that long: I run out of upper leg too quickly; when they hang any lower! 🤣

If you can, can U show me that dangler, or how u gona attach it to your belt (assuming U won't just tow it around in a little wagon 🤣)
No Dangler on that one, no need with the original Buy Brown Exposed Spine sheath :) like quick draw IPSIC holster
Oh! It's got a Tek-Lok on it...
It sure does :)

I do have Danglers too :)

For sure LOL

Pics of current and past MOAB sheaths.

These MOAB's are way different than my original one.
thinner Old is .400 new is .340"
swedge on older version, no swedge on the new one
square magnum scales on the old one
Much more rounded scales on the new version.

All I ever made were my Original Exposed Spine sheaths for the tapered shape of the original MOAB

But I made a special "knife" to make fully enclose MOAB sheaths this go around.

Turned out great

David. I’m going to have a real “funky” sheath order coming in for you in the next few weeks for the Moab. Have a few ideas on this one. Lol

That Green linen moab you just posted is absolutely amazing. 😯

Thanks for all the info, I can see how on a long blade like MOAB the Dangler would be unnecessary, but I plan to use it with BG ASH-1, or Skinny ASH-1

HAIL TO THE KING BABY!!!

Ok, so I'm way late in coming back with pics but this blade deserves lots so I'm gonna blow this thread up.

First off, for anyone who's never handled one, nothing really prepares you for how BIG this Behemoth is. It's one SERIOUSLY LARGE blade!

You read the specs, you picture in your mind how much bigger it is than pretty much anything else in your collection but it's still larger than you expected when you get it in hand for the first time. Even after all the times I've messed around with this knife, it still impresses me at what a mega chunk of INFI this is (and to think, it's not even the thickest one they made!). It's PROPER PORKER!

That's right, you can comfortably fit an ENTIRE SJTAC 7 within the MOAB blade! The SJTAC 7 is nearly 13" long too!

If you take stock thickness of the two blades into account, you could literally make two entire SJTAC 7s out of one MOAB blade! 🤯😵‍💫

But........ can it chop? I think we already know the answer to that, but I had to find out for myself just how good it is.

See these two logs? I split them in half with the MOAB in 2-3 swings. No joke. This thing is half knife, half axe!

Decent size piece of seasoned Ash split right down the middle :

I fully expected to have to baton these given that they're 4"-5" wide and based on my experience attempting to split these with the Choppasaurus. Little did I know the power of the MOAB....

Maybe it was a fluke though and that was an easy piece to split?

Grabbed another piece of equal size :

First swing, coming in hot like it's namesake, it darn near blew the log into two pieces.

Propagated a crack that went 3/4 of the way down the log :

Two more swings later (one was a bad swing, I missed to the left) and it was all over :

Let's try again, just to be sure. We'll try to split the larger half left behind from the piece I just split (knife just resting on wood for size reference) :

Alright, I'm tired by this point having gone crazy on a 2x4 earlier before I ever went at it on these logs, so my power is definitely down and the less than ideal set up of having these on the ground isn't helping any, but first swing cutting in a different direction and the log put up more resistance than previously it seemed like.

Nevertheless, got a nice crack forming almost halfway down :

Er...... What?

I told you I was getting tired, lol

Two more swings and one log became two :

My chopping game leaves a lot to be desired (I'm no competition level chopper) but I've been experimenting with 2x4s as I want to do some comparisons down the road using some form of relatively repeatable media for a chop-off.

If you've never tried it before, I encourage you to give it a go sometime. Much harder than I expected. There's a lot more technique involved than just swinging away like a caveman if you're aiming to chop it in half in as few swings as possible!

In the Choppasaurus release thread there was a video posted where it was like 5 chops to get through the 2x4. I'm nowhere near that using the Choppasaurus so far, still practicing, but this MOAB is getting close!

I can only imagine what's achievable with this thing once I get my skill and strength up and also put a proper high performance edge on it. Can it cleave a 2x4 in twain in only 2 chops?

Somebody somewhere has probably done it. Post it up if you have!

For me, for now, with a far from ideal chopping set up and only the stock edge, I managed to get nearly half way through on 2 chops, but then it took another 6 or so to get the rest of the way through. Lack of accuracy and skill (and again, poor set up) are mostly to blame.

More to come later this year I hope as I play around more. 😎

Nice test! I took mine down to the Pistol Range for a batoning session. First time I ever tried to beat an almost $2500 knife to death... 🙄
It just grinned, and asked for more! 😁👍
Thanks Bob 🙂

You not kidding either! This thing only got dirty, it's completely unphased. I have full confidence I could have beat it twice as hard and it'd still be shrugging off the beatings.

The beautiful thing with this knife is, it's got the weight which really works for you, you don't have to swing it so hard to get it to bite deep. I can't wait to try it on softer green wood sometime!
