Good morning guys!

Sounds good X, we have been making a lot of pulled pork... last year I got a stand alone pressure cooker and it works very well especially at altitude.

More knives today! :D Fixed blades! I'm trying to figure out a tooling/? issue I have with the folders and until then will be working on fixed blades. I've been really busy in the shop but my recycling drawer is growing faster than my output. I think I have the issue figured out though, should be an easy fix.

Rolf - Ti Tanto! I want to do a run of Ti Kwaikens soon. My other big plan is to do a big run of Petty's/line knives geared for high performance and priced on a Chef's budget.

I've been testing the heck out of an AEB-L knife for over a year now and I think it is some of the best steel out there. It's not really known for the edge holding, more the fine edge and ease of sharpening but I'm very impressed... it's still plowing through leather and wood like crazy.

Mornin' Vatos ! Today is Bikefest so I get to go ride bikes and do other bike stuff for most of today. X, if you are off today you should ride over to UOP @ the grassy area on the north side of the quad.....there will be beer and food.
D,Sounds like you are feeling a little better. A Ti kwaikens sound killer.
Welp, gotsta go. Have a heavy metal weekend!

Kev, we were thinking of heading over there for that. Might get everyone out on their bike just for it. Just don't know which bike the Brandi will want to ride so I can't get them out yet...

Hoping to get some more trigger work done on a couple other guns today though, we'll see.

Good mornin fellas. Bike fest was pretty fun Lots of folks, bikes, beer, food and tunes. There will be another ride tonight it should be more good times.
Coffee Coffee Coffee!

Afternoon fellas!

Well I got 3 triggers worked on. New Timney installed into my .30-'06 and completely reworked my AR15 trigger, which while I was doing it my dad called to see what I was doing and he decided to bring one of his over for me to tune. His proved to be a test, it was just a junk milspec trigger that came in a parts kit, but found out the disconnect was about .045"-.055" out of spec and making things way worse. Fixed it up and now it's a decent trigger, heavy but decent.

Now just chillin, bought a stuffed toy rabbit at the flea market which will now be a decoy for coyote hunting. Should work, I rolled it around my rabbit cages to hopefully get it to smell like one too.

Hope y'all are making it a great weekend!

Yeah, my dad's trigger was making me scratch my head, especially after spending an hour lapping all mating surfaces and giving everything nice sharp angles for a clean break, to install it and have this weird click, then about 3 pounds extra force required and a rough reset. Examined everything to find the nose of the disconnect contacting the hammer before reset...

Where green and yellow touch (hammer and trigger respectively) is the sear, the hook on the purple is the nose of the disconnect that catches the hammer while the trigger is pulled back (to prevent full auto). It should not catch until the trigger is fully pulled and the hammer pushed back down by the bolt sliding back. Rudimentary explanation of the AR15 trigger, but that's the gist of it.

Morning boys, just got to work after nearly 1.5hrs of commuting. Had my pre-background oral interviews this morning. Wasn't sure what to expect and was nervous. But it was pretty standard. Hopefully, I make it next part of the process.

Seize the monday lol

Hey guys! I hope everyone is having a good one, I had a great day in the shop and finally have a folder working... and working very nicely!

Yesterday was Amber's first Birthday and she really had a blast, lots of fun for all!

Hey hey hey HBD Amber Fairly!!! She running around the compound yet?

Thanks X!

Almost running... she is up to 8-9 steps now but could take off at any moment! We have taught her a bit of sign language as they can usually pick that up before they really learn to talk and she is signing "more" for most everything too, lol. More food!

Hi guys!
Daniel- Usually, do the folders need lots of extra time to get them just-right?

Hi guys!
Daniel- Usually, do the folders need lots of extra time to get them just-right?

Folders always take a bit more time than I expect... this one came together nicely yesterday but it was extra tough getting there. Long story so bear with me...

I had 2 Framelocks 100% working... locks set, detents perfect, working nicely! I did a full flat grind on the first one and my swedge just didn't work out very well.... tight double swedge at a low angle/new style and I just couldn't get it right. Rare but not a big deal... It went in the recycling bin and I started on the second blade. I am worn out and needing to get the knife out and so course I screwed it up. I almost never screw up a grind but now have 2 knives and no blades.

moving on... I wasn't happy with the lock action on one of the frames so I took .01" out of it and left some milling marks... took them out but lowered my mill head to do so... too deep on that one and the whole knife is now trashed! But no I persevere and start up another frame... screw it up.... repeat x3 until I am out of stuff to work on. I was still not sure why I screwed up more frames (bore was off) but later realized a reamer was likely bent out of spec most likely causing the problem.

So now no blades and only one frame set is left... took a mental break over the weekend and this week I'm back on it! Heat treat went well and I spent all day yesterday on a new blade/etc.

All of this took me about a week to do so there was a whole week with no knives and a lot of money spent/lost. The week before was spent remaking sheaths and fixing scratches due to some mistake in my sheath making process... once again trying new things for improvement and sometimes they don't go right the first time. Meanwhile I have mild food poisoning and my only working vehicle is broken down. I am still scrambling hard as there was no pay and lots of money going out. This stuff is very stressful but I am hard headed and moving forward... yesterday I too a small break between each stage and this latest framelock is nice! :D

No complaints, just explaining.. my job rocks! Once things are balanced out they will be running smoothly here online too!

I'm trying hard guys! Hang in there with me. My budget keeps gong towards bills and it is a tricky thing making this work with only one income when you get sick or miss a few days. I want to let you guys know that I really care and will make this knife thing happen!
