Umm, gun stuff...check!

Pretty good day for mail calls, another new barrel, 1000 pieces of brass, 500 bullets, special paint for my 80% lowers. Still have a couple things I'm waiting on too.

Gotta get busy at the loading bench soon. I have about 1500 cases I need to process and another 200 to load.

Make it great fellas!

D, The FBC fam' is sending big fatty clouds of good vibe smoke for your Mama's health.
Y'all remember slow and low is the tempo.

Mornin' y'all.
D, have you ever worked with M4?
X, next time you are doing a reload session hit me up. I would like to learn about it and possibly start doing some reloading.
Keep 'em sharp!

Yo!

M$ - yes I have, it is great steel. It is different than many steels in that it needs a relatively fast nose to the quench but the latter part of cooling must be done slowly. I plate quench then air cool in still air.

Have a good one guys!!!!

Heya D! Do you use a prefab'd gage to tram your mill? I was looking at getting something like the Pro Tram system that Edge makes, but its pricey. Wanted to see if there were better alternatives.

Thanks, D. I think I am going to give M4 a try after I finish up this W2.
Bobby, have you had any luck playing around with the mill?

Yeah I got the hang of it. I was doing it WAY wrong! LOL.

Electrician in tonight to look over my power situation in the garage, and quote me on fixing it. Hopefully it won't be nuts!

What's up fellas!

Another Monday....

Managed to very successfully not accomplish anything this weekend, I've got to hit the loading bench soon as I have a match this coming weekend! Gotta clean my rifle too.

Hope y'all make it great!

Hey all,
New guy here. My user ID - TRfromMT is where I'm from, not where I am, which is CO.

Also, this is me: https://www.instagram.com/inrangedesign/

I am relatively new to Bladeforums, and wanted to stop here to introduce myself. I want to get to know the DFK crowd and join in. Daniel and I are working on a little collaboration we hope you will enjoy. I am not a knifemaker, but I work with wood and have been doing handles and pistol grips for awhile.

(Daniel, I hope it was ok to spill the beans here).

Anyway, Hello to all. I'll be around.

Allo TR - welcome to Blade Forums, and the DFK world within it. Nice looking wood work on those handles - I'll be curious to see what you two come up with.

I use the Pro-tram... pricey but well worth it! They are top notch quality.

I was getting thrown off (using a simple gauge/holder system) by the mill table on my LMS mill and wound up buying the Pro-tram because I thought I was tramming/reading it wrong... it turned out the mill table was that warped! Having the pro-tram visually confirmed everything... good for me because I was unsure if I was tramming it right. I was also getting more movement than I liked from my gauge holder when I'd jump the slots on my mill table, the pro-tram completely eliminated that variable.

I think this stuff would be pretty easy to show someone but it hard to learn on your own...

You can tram with a holder and dial gauge too... a magnetic arm or purpose built gauge holding device works well. This works great and costs a fair bit less plus the gauge/holder can be used for lots of other stuff.

I've set up my drill presses with only a bent piece of rod chucked up, just this method will tell you a lot...

Thanks, D. I think I am going to give M4 a try after I finish up this W2.

It's top notch steel all around... some of the very best. I forgot to mention it will make you go through belts like crazy especially when it comes to finishing... but well worth the extra effort!

Thanks dude, good link! :)
