There will be releases from dealers who did not take any kind of reservations. I will send you a private message as to respect the guidelines of the sub-forum.I’m assuming these are mostly spoken for? All the dealers getting them are pretty big in the GEC world so I don’t know if it’s worth my time to send anymore emails.![]()
100%. This was not GEC’s price. It was that one retailer. Other retailers were $100 less.I think it is pretty unfair to judge this CC release or GEC by the pricing of a single dealer well known for high pricing on all GECs. GEC didnt price you out, the retailer did.
$299 is quite a bit for a 2 blade USA made production slipjoint, even when you consider the limited nature of the release and the sweet jigging.
This retailer does have very good service and communication and is a long time GEC dealer, and I have been content with my various purchases from him.
Well for me, it is definitely the dealer asking the high price. This particular dealer is usually 20-25% more than other GEC dealers, but he is a good guy and a solid knife retailer.Only speaking for myself, I don't blame GEC or the dealer. Insane demand causes insane prices.![]()
Yep. And in this case it was 50% higher. But like you said, he’s a good retailer.Well for me, it is definitely the dealer asking the high price. This particular dealer is usually 20-25% more than other GEC dealers, but he is a good guy and a solid knife retailer.
I'm curious to the process used on this particular jigging, it must be more time intensive because there are so many generic jigging these days unlike the good old days, and very few like this which I call molten lava. His service is great!! He sold out in 45 seconds, and he posts good pictures!!

It cost a lot to get these knives produced, and the demand does drive up prices!! If the dealer charges less, the "flippers" make more!! We cannot win in this crazy market!! In my opinion, it's a nice knife regardless! Personally, I forget the extra I've paid, if I like the knife!!! And I like this one!!

Many are curious, but jigging is one of the few closely guarded secrets at GEC!!!
Bill has worked hard on the process, all of his career!! Most knife companies buy their handle material already jigged!! GEC does their own!!![]()
I did not know that I was thinking it was done by an outside entity ,I believe case might get the jigging done outside of company. Many are curious, but jigging is one of the few closely guarded secrets at GEC!!!
